Guess I'll continue today with what I didn't finish yesterday. And so on, and so on, and so on. When is Matatk supposed to get released? I thought first time offenders caught a break. Took the 90 for a nice ride yesterday to pick up some parts for the boat. Mechanically it ran fine. Then the DIC went out, went to raise the headlights and the right one hung up and I still have an issue with the radio/climate control system. Fortunately it didn't get dark till after I was home. The car will have it's day soon enough. I have some reading to do in the FSM. Like I mentioned, it ran just fine.

Howdy! This morning's meeting got canceled, so that's a bonus already. Another dreary, rainy day - our snow's almost gone, and there is a possibility that we might not have a white Christmas. That would be quite a change from last year - we got socked early and often. I guess I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Sooooo. Instead of leaving $500 on the nightstand he leaves a gift basket in the limo. Class act. A real class act. A client of my wifes' recently told me advice his Grampa gave him. If it flies, floats or f@(#s ... rent it (don't buy it). Jeter must have heard the same advice.

Good morning......warmer here and wet...in fact it has been raining. High of 50 today. Not Corvette weather..

I had a post all ready and the computer shut down for windows upgrades right in the middle of it....I said bad words and I lost the post. Stupid computer..

Big hubub out here in farm country. The dept of labor is trying to amend the child labor laws for agriculture. Meaning that a lot of kids under the age of 16 will not have summer jobs if it all passes. This does not regulate kids that work on their parents farm. This is aimed at the thousands of kids employed to detassel corn in the seed production fields.

As a rite of passage out here kids as young as 13 will all be standing on various street corners at 5:30 to 6 am on a summer morning with water bottles and lunches and dressed in all types of wierd aperall. Then an old school bus comes by and picks them up and takes them to various fields out in the country where they spend all day walking those fields cutting the tassles off the female corn plants....(I know you asking how can you tell a female corn plant from a male one.....)

The work is long and hard and hot but the pay is big and it only lasts a month or six weeks. Kids can make 2 or 3K in that amount of time and that will keep them in vid games. It also teaches them about hard work and the value of a dollar. They are taken care of well with plenty of water and breaks and can always sit down or go back to the bus if they don't feel good. The temps can get extreme and the fields have to be done in a certain amount of time so the clock is ticking. All of our kids have done this every summer from 6th or 7th grade through high school. Our kids in fact work for the Research station in the seed research fields which lasts a lot longer than the detasseling.

The seed industry needs the labor force and it is one of the few jobs the kids can get at that age. Big call in and letter writing campainge going on to keep the bill from passing........more later. Thought you should know how we roll out here....

Yikes I gotta get going....have a good day Guru's....

Me too....Marcus, I heard something the other day about the Govt wanting to require safety courses before a minor could operate any type of farm equipment for $$, and they were even talking about freaking lawnmowers--

I spent many summers as a kid driving tractors, etc..(My family didn't own a farm, but I grew up in farm country in La) Perfect summer job..
Guess last time I drove a tractor was back in 1998-2000, when we moved back to La. Worked with my FIL (RIP) on his farm driving everything from an old worn out MF to a 96JD9600 combine...and then drove the 18wheelers to the elevator..Wish I could have made a living working the farm.

Nothing like doing a quick 15 minute job ....... that ends up taking an hour and a half. Putting 2 roller assemblies on the boat trailer. Had to deal with a stripped stainless steel bolt. All is well now. Job done. Only cut up one knuckle.

A Catholic Nun was sitting on a train opposite a moozlum man wearing a turban who was eating some fresh shrimp.

Every time he ate one he spat the tail at her and she had to throw it out the window.

Eventually she got pissed off and pulled the emergency cord.

The turban wearing moozlum looked at her and said, "You'll get fined $250 for doing that you stupid Catholic sl*t.”

She laughed and said, "When I cry out rape and they smell your fingers, you'll get 20 years, you diaper~headed camel-fu*ker!!!"

Afternoon guys...It's been another busy day, but one day closer to Christmas Break. Can't believe that about Jeter, he's such a wholesome guy (BS, sorry)...I see him just like any other two timing jerk.....Sorry, stepping off soap box. Got lots going on again, Church pot-luck supper tonight, ball games Friday night.

Saturday I'm headed for Denver, I bought a wood lathe off Craigslist. Wife has two brothers who live in the Denver area, we'll try to see them too.

Marcus, I hadn't heard that about the labor laws...freaking guberment wants these kids to sit on their arse at home and get fat, lazy and more dependent on parents......simply BS.

heh,heh,heh

I have to get up there again and snug everything up. The screws work loose with all the pounding they take. It's almost ready to put in the water. I ran it today for a couple of hours. It has some water in the fuel. The fuel has Stabil but moisture still builds up in the fuel tank. The boat is mad at me for not using it more often. I put in some 91% isopropyl alcohol, the main ingredient in dry gas. There's about a third of a tank left. I sucked out some of the fuel as well. Looks like I got a lot of the water out. I have a water seperator/gas filter too. A couple of good short runs and I might trust it again for a long run.

Not funny since most Mexicans are Catholic and would burn in hell for just thinking of throwing trash at a Nun.

The original is funny as hell for islamaphobics.
