Hot Rod magazine is really pushing the new Mustang. On the second page it has it listed as a 250mph car.

The engine is quite impressive. I've really come to respect the design of that new engine platform. It has gobs of potential.

agreed. That engine is the next generation from the original Romeo block of 20 years ago. It's shown to be very powerful and durable.

Just a different way of getting to the same end.

When I was at the track over the summer I met a cool guy with a new mustang 5.0. With exhaust, tune, DRs, he was running 11.8 or 11.9. He was hanging with a newer vette with same mods. And it gets good gas mileage to boot.

I'm impressed.

my only gripe? They are heavy... nearly 4000lbs as a coupe, well over as a vert.

And I don't care if you throw 650hp at it, 4000lbs will not be faster than a ZR1, at 3500.

Physics is a bitch, yo.

I'm not a Ford guy, having grown up in the 60's you had to choose a brand to follow, Chevy, Ford or Mopar. Because of Corvette I was a Chevy guy but I have to give Ford the nod for their work on the new Mustang.

I like the way it looks and sounds......Fords always did sound good with a set of glasspacks on them. I have even had the passing fancy of owning one from time to time....but then I have a cup of coffee and the feeling goes away......

I would own a Hemi Challanger though...big engine version..after Chevy I was Mopar.....

Don't delude yourself, Marcus... They are Ford through and through.

Only cause Chevy turned him down when he went looking for an engine to put in the AC's.
