Greetings! Looks like we have no shortage of interlopers on the forum today, sprinkling little helpful links all over. Dreary day here, more rain on the way.

RIP George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley)

Have a good day, Gurus!

Another short but sweet introduction to a new day.

Knocked out about 2/3rds of my weeding duties yesterday. I'm gonna jump back in this morning and see what I can get done. Then I'm gonna spread (Ronstar) an anti weed chemical composition in all the pots. Sounds like fun; Doesn't it? Things are looking better around here and the finish of the the "must do" home projects draws near. Today I feel wealthy. I have a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips, my cup of life over floweths with an abundance of good fortune. (Until something comes along and f's it all up) I had to say that ........ because it's true. But today looks to be a glorious day. I'm going to do the best I can to enjoy it, even while performing menial tasks.

The Jeffersons was a breakthrough show. It helped teardown racial stereotypes through humor in a time of ethnic turbulance. I know he did other projects but The Jeffersons and his walk ons in All In The Family stand out most in my mind.

Good Morning CGs!

Wife is off at work today, surprised since they've been calling her off to much recently. It's a good thing she's going, though. Almost too hot to take the kids out to do anything. Zoo, park, etc. It's gonna be another hot one. Maybe we'll go in the pool later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...I got home yesterday and had a bunch of work waiting for me. So I worked until my arse was ready to drop. Got home from KC at 4:00, unloaded the truck and went down to work on the sheet rock. Got home from there at 11:15.

Today work on the cabinets. Floor coverings coming a week from today, so there is lots to do...got to go.

Looking forward to another long boring day at work. This is my slow season up there and it's hard when the owner is around. He constantly nags at you to be doing something to make money. Kinda had when there's not work. I'm taking a book to read today. I think yesterday I found the end of the internet 14 times. At least I'm indoors in the air conditioning. Was about 100 again here today, projected for that again today also.
Have a good day, all.

Just put RR#2 down for a nap, I'm gonna go downstairs and do some light weights to get back in to things. Wish me luck.

I feel like it. I was downstairs with the kids yesterday and I couldn't resist picking up the weights (I'm addicted!). I started really light on the bench and did a pyramid set from 135 to 225 then I did a few lat pull downs to stretch out my back. Then it was time to eat so I couldn't do any more. I'll do a little more today.

7 hours outside took just about everything out of me. I'm beat. Have to start looking for my second wind. I'm taking a quick breather and of course I'm hydrating. I've been jumping into the hot tub at the end of my working day. It feels good. Warm water and massaging jets. After that I try to do little or nothing but enjoy dinner and put a dent in the couch. Man .... I'm beat. I may have to just call it a day.

How hot is it? It's so hot that the trees are whistling for dogs......you break into a sweat when you step outside at 7:30 in the morning.....the best parking space is determined by shade not by distance......cows are giving evaporated milk....your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death.....

How dry is it.....The Baptists and Mormons are starting to baptize by sprinking, The Presbyterians are using wet-wipes, the Methodists are giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water!

Uh...some drought humor to help us through.....For the first time today the heat finally got to me. We were spending more time in the fields scouting for Spider Mites, which can take you out if you don't control them. And about 2:30 it was 100 degrees I came out of a field and my legs felt a little weak and my hand was starting to shake a bit so I said screw this. Called the help and told them to head in, this is bullshit. Came home and laid by the fan and slept for about and hour and got up and ate a bit and feel ok now.

I can't hardly remember when it wasn't like this....

How hot was it?

My feet started cramping, then my hands, then my vision got a little fuzzy. I worked for about 20 minites more after that, then called it a day. I know I had plenty of fluids. I stopped every 30 to 45 minutes and had something to drink.
Right now I'm dranined.

(45 minutes later)
Had dinner. Feel better but my eyes are still feeling dry. Being out all day in the heat will do that .

Add a little corn pollen to that so you get good and itchy...I have to wear long sleave shirts to keep the sun off me but also the corn leaves will scratch if you don't.....and the humidity is always worse in the canopy.....not bitching just stating some facts...

evening guys....I worked on the cabinets all morning and for an hour or so after lunch. It's hotter than H3LL in that building. I have a couple fans running, that helps some. After I got done with the cabinets I started staining the baseboard and casing. Had GS #2 and 3 helping, then their dad came and helped for a while. Tomorrow I'll spray some finish on those pieces and then start on the next batch.

Right now, I have an unquenchable thirst. Water, Kool Aid, root beer. I'm full of fluids and I'm still thirsty. I hate it.
