you have no idea how many of those two-tones I ran into when trying to help j3studio get his 85!

I always liked that 2 tone, tho. Very nice, and the slightly darker bottom really popped in the shade.

Mine was the first two tone blue c4 vette I had seen, while 99% of the time it was the two tone bronze vettes that I seen were everywhere. It just seems that darker bottom makes the belt line stand out more pronounced then the solid colored Vettes and to think at one time I was planning on painting the entire car dark blue, but not now, going to keep both blues.

Too true! They actually made more blue two-tones than light blue metallics in 1985 ...

... there was a two tone blue 1985 at the NCRS National Convention this year. Sharp car - had the cloth sports seats.

Matt383 has a super car, I think it's an 88. It's a dark blue, kind of a midnight blue. I don't think it's a factory color, but that car is the prettiest C4 I've ever seen, no matter what the year. He's selling the thing, if I were rolling in cash, it would be mine!
As for two tones, CSS996 always expressed that he liked two tones, then he went and bought a ruby... go figure!

You hit the nail on the head, Dale!

I sure wanted that Silver/Gray '85 that was in Iowa. But I believe I got a better car at a better price with the Ruby. I still really do want an early C4 in the two tone silver though. If I ever come across a super deal on one, I will probably do something that will get me in a LOT of trouble with my wife.

My buddy Randy T. From the other site has a silver vert in addition to a blue on blue coupe. I haven't seen either in person, but the vert is for sale, and I want it SO BAD! It is not two tone, but it could be.... I just can't do it right now. I did invite him to join us. Hopefully he'll sign up. He's a busy guy right now.

I remember how you drooled every time a two tone came up. It was almost comical. From what I can see and what I've read, you did very well. There are merits for both early and later C4s. If I bought that black rose 92 I was looking at, I'd probably be wishing I had bought my 87 instead. But, if I had it to do over, I'd have gone with an LTx car.

Well, to be honest, I drooled over yellow ones too. Lots of drool. All over the damn place....

I tried to post a photo of a two-tone silver I have in my Vette pix folder, but Photobucket is being crappy. Has not let me upload anything all week. POS.

Well, whaddya know. You just have to get angry sometimes....

interior is graphite.

it only need some small mechanical maintenance when i bought it (water pump, mufflers, and some clean up under the hood). the guy i bought it from didn't want to mess with it. he set a firm price, so i test drove it and handed him cash....

OK, I love my two-tone. If I had to replace it I might even convert a one color vette to two-tone. I first saw a silver/black coupe long before I bought mine. It was raining out, and it looked bad-ass. A year later I bought mine.

Sorry...but I have never been a fan of the blue interior. First thing I changed when I bought my 86...blue out...red and black in.
