We took Lauren out for what is probably her final shakedown cruise before the big trip today. The obstensible reason was that we needed some more "age-appropriate" (1985 or older) cassettes for the trip. So, we drove up to the record store in Kutztown that my oldest sister and her husband run, a round trip of about 120 miles. Just in case she has to, I had Ivelis put some miles on the car, which she hasn't driven for almost 10 years. After she had gotten some backroad and highway driving in, we stopped and she (gratefully) switched seats. We arrived at the record store. It was packed (today is Record Store Day) with a band playing and a lot of business getting done. By the way, we were successful in our goal - see the picture below. Moving Pictures is always in the CD changer in my 92.
Sometimes I listen to it while driving on the racetrack. |

I have a lot of personal recordings on cassettes, enough that we ordered the 2003 with the cassette player (akin to ordering an 8-track in a 1981 Corvette). Chevrolet was smart - they let you order the cassette, but if you did, they required the CD changer in the trunk. Now CDs are near obsolescence, but the presence of the changer controls means you can hack your iPod in. At home, the Nakamichi CR7A (second best cassette recorder ever made) remains waiting and fully functional, but little used. |

Oh yea, Nak made good stuff. My cassette is a Pioneer but in 1976, it sold for $550. And my Yamaha turn table was $1,100 counting the $500 cartridge. So, what was the first best???? |

Hey get a cassette adapter and you can plug your mp3/ipod in using the ear jack.
