I think it's metric pipe thread, only thing a search shows is BMW and there's 2 different sizes.

Best bet is to call Bill.

I googled it and then realized it doesn't matter, you're getting it from the dealer anyways.

But while we're there, ~70 OZ of fluid goes it in. I remember this because I wrote it on my empty bottle last time. I just picked up 3 qts of synchromesh for it.

yea, 2.2 quarts... got it already!

I had the part number, I was just hoping the find a regular bolt to fit into the fill hole...

I did get the old drain out, took about 90 minutes of prying and wacking at the damned thing... it was pretty smooshed.

The threads into the box are fine... the plug is what took all the beating. Tested that last night...

I will take a pic of the old one... it's not about being too tight... the head was folded over by speedbumps!

I simply could not get the tool into the allen head!!! I did finally get it out, and for the moment, I am going to swap the drain and the fill. Should be a-ok.

oh, no need, Brad! Keep it! I am just swapping them!

I can use the old drain on the fill, and the old fill on the drain.... the old fill is perfect. I will also take a bolt and JB Weld it to the head of the fill and back it with a nut, JB Weld the entire thing together... quick fix.

For what I need, it will be perfect! I will worry about it in 18 months when the box goes to Bill for rebuild.

Those damned things are EXPENSIVE! $30 on eBay!
