Good Morning CGs!

Well I read yesterday's chat and all the talk about bicycles makes me want to take mine out. I think it's just the whole "spring is in the air" feeling we have going on. It was in the 60s yesterday. Amazing. Wife said it's supposed to be back down in the 40s next week but I'll take the warm stuff while we can.

Still trying to get some parts together for the car. I was going to order some Brakemotive rotors and pads but they pissed me off because they wouldn't combine shipping on multiple auctions and told me "shipping is free". So I am still looking.

Party later today for MIL's bday. It's a surprise and she will be mad, but it will be fun anyway

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...slept like a log. back on the drive yesterday. I will say that driving on interstate is a lot easier than going the 'normal' way. Traffic, especially in western Kansas, wasn't bad. A few trucks. but as you get more central (Salina) and east, the traffic is greater and that's about where I would get on interstate anyway.

Weather here is supposed to be cooler today, in the mid 60's. Then back up in the 70's for a couple days and a little dip back into the low 60's for Tuesday and then back up for the rest of the week. Dang near perfect weather...except for the wind, it is March.

Niece's wedding this afternoon, and #2 is cutting Rosies' and my hair this morning (she's getting a paint job too).

Got to go for now.

Good morning, all.

Rainy and in the forties in the Philadelphia area. This will wash away a lot of the salt and melt.

I'm at the local mechanic right now, getting the state inspection and (for the first time in years) an emissions inspection (because the Lincoln Highway trip put us well over 5,000 miles for the year).

Later, a bunch of general tasks - we're only three weeks out from Route 66.

Well, I bit the bullet. I ordered a set of front and rear rotors and ceramic pads from Rock Auto. I got the Power Stops. I used Power Stop for BIL's truck last year and they worked extremely well. He's been driving it daily with no problems. I considered the other ebay brands, but they are all "unknown" and to save $30 wasn't worth the headache. Power Stop has a 10% instant rebate right now plus the 5% rockauto discount on the site here, so the total was $248.24 shipped. I can't complain about that.

Greetings! Sunny out there today, so I'll be able to see what I'm doing while picking up stuff in the yard, emptying out window boxes and other general clean-up. I'm also replacing all the bulbs in my landscape light fixtures with LED's. Gradually converting to LED's in the house, too - I'm on the warpath after getting a $400 electric bill a couple months back.

I've read good things about the Power Stops, Matt - hope they do the job for ya.

Have a good day, all!

Brad, I've been converting to LEDs in the house as well. Not so much for the energy savings, but convenience of not swapping out bulbs so often. Energy savings is just a perk. At church, I swapped al the regular bulbs out for LEDs. I think that they are seeing a reduction in electricity usage.

Matt, it's a little late now, but I bought a set of those eBay brake sets for my 99 Silverado and thought they were dang nice. And for the price, super. I'd buy them again. Although Rock Auto's Power Stop brakes are supposed to be pretty good too.

The good LED bulbs are really nice - we've been swapping them in as the old bulbs die. The relatively recent easy availability of dimmable ones is nice too.

Landscape bulbs are all swapped out - I'll use 38 watts instead of 398. Now I'm working up the ambition to scrub down the garage floor - if I manage to do that, I'll bring the Corvette home tomorrow.

Very cool addition to your fleet, Marcus!

I wouldn't say my garage floor is surgically clean, but if I dropped a french fry on it, I'd pick it up and eat it.
