Good Morning CGs!

Well it should be another beautiful day here weather-wise. I got most of my "weekend" projects done, so maybe I can bum around today? Not likely. Before she asks I already know my tasks today are vacuuming and mopping the floors. That's ok, I can handle it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday! Gonna be 77 and sunny, I like the trend. I could get used to this.

When I grow up, I'm gonna be like Bill - looks like fun!

Have a great day, all!

A day in the life of Tommy T-Bone.

Sue wiped out a bunch of files and programs on her computer Monday when she hit Refresh without reading what the consequences of such a move on her Windows 8 computer might be. The WD Passport backup fell victim to the move apparently and all stored files were erased or the unit was corrupted as it showed no files. I toubleshot and then disconnected the unit and she brought it to a retailer that had success in retrieving lost date in the past. They retrieved some files and stored them in a folder. I told her I don't know Windows 8, I don't know Quickbooks and she should get somebody that understands them to deal with the issue. I'm not a geek. I just use a computer. She uses QuickBooks Pro so she called Intuit to see if they could retrieve any data from the saved files. Here's where the fun begins. She doesn't know what tech support is talking about so she hands me the phone and says you can understand what they're talking about better than me. This begins a marathon session that has me on the phone for 3 straight hours Wed night with a scheduled callback the Thursday. Yesterday I end up on the phone for another 3 1/2 hours as they try to get the data recovered and and an updated version of Quickbooks installed and operational. This leads to folders being uploaded and sent to Intuit's data recovery service which will call me back in 3 to 5 business days with their findings. This stuff gives me a headache plus exposure to stresses I tried like hell to avoid. She's always overextended and loves living in a pressure cooker while I on the other hand like to be left the f@(% alone and tend to my $#!+. Because she has two things scheduled at the same time I get to go sit at a festival tomorrow and watch the booth from 09:00 to 12:00. I hate doing retail and hate dealing with customers and talking about plants, a subject I have a limited knowledge of. Of course if I don't help her then I'm the bad guy. Meanwhile I've been trying to kick the crud, catch up on my stuff which is weeks behind and try to sneak in a little me time all while hating to hear the ring of the phone. I have an interesting tax story too but I've already spouted off enough for one day. Maybe enough for a couple of days. My dreams of retirement were just that, dreams. I envisioned time for books, movies, driving around and staring off into the heavens. Ha! ..... Ha-ha! ....... Ahhhh HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA. There coming to take me away ha-ha. There coming to take me away ho-ho

Hey guys....slept in a bit this morning, 8:30 so got a late start. A phone call actually got me out of bed. So I'm out in the shop waiting on a guy to show up so I can cut up a sheet of plywood for him. Then off to finish installing hardware on the cabinets I installed last week. While there, I asked what they were going to do with the "old' refrig , so ended up buying that for #2 and headed back soon to get it. Work in the shop building an interior 6 panel door in yellow pine. Beautiful stuff and not very expensive as far as cabinet grade lumber goes.

They are taking about rain here for the next 5 days....I sure hope that pans out we need rain terrible bad. It feels like it could rain now, so they may be on to something.

Tommy, I feel for you. I know how that can go. Brad, I want to be like Bill too when I grow up. Lambo, Bill? And that was quite a surprise pulling up that 'gator.

I know you know tee. I'm just trying to wander around the mushroom patch and people keep pulling me into their realm. It's not gonna change anytime soon, if ever, and I'm never going to get used to it. I don't want to get used to it. I do it kickin and screamin. I try to talk Sue into starting to think about retiring. Then I'll have to find another way to get her out of the house.

Moved the refrig and changed the door swing. Then loaded up the old one and delivered it to another house. Then back to #2's house and installed a garage door opener that we bought for her a month or more ago. Came home and sat down in my Lazy-boy and nearly went to sleep.

The computer was not online so no clouds or online back up. It was backed up on an external drive that just so happened to show no files when we needed the friggin back up. Quickbooks techs can retrieve files because the program supposedly has a hidden back up that is almost up to date to the last closing. The tech called yesterday and said the had reteived some files up to early 2015. That sounds promising. What a mess this is/was.
