Good Morning CGs!
Took the kids to a car show last night after work. Walked around and looked at the cars and the kids talked to the police and firemen that were there. 2 c4s, 1 c5, and 1 71 c3 represented the Corvette population. The kids were more interested in the bounce house and popcorn, though. Still a little cool today but the sun is warm. Not much else to report. Hope everyone has a great day! Matthew |

HOPE THERE IS JUST THIS ONE--- Today's whole celebrity culture now trembles. It's a refreshing change. http://newsok.com/paul-greenberg-very-well-alone/article/5507387 I DO LIKE GREENBERG. |

Hidey-ho! Last work-day for a week, so I'm plenty busy finishing things up and counting the minutes. Speaking of car shows, I need to get down to the Hastings car show (every other weekend all summer) - always a pleasure, and of course, they have mini-donuts.
Have a good one, Gurus! http://www.awkwardtransit.com/those-m ... een-some-really-big-bugs/ |

Brad....I saw your comment about the Buick enclave AC repair....I'm trying to avoid changing anything. This is mostly a stop gap measure and I'd rather add a $10 can every summer than do a complete rebuild.

WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THIS: This came from a gentleman who runs a 2,000-acre corn farm up around Barron, WI, not far from Oshkosh. He used to fly F-4Es and F-16s for the Guard and participated in the first Gulf War. His story: I went out to plant corn for a bit, to finish a field before tomorrow morning and witnessed 'The Great Battle'. A golden eagle -- big, with about a six-foot wingspan - flew right in front of the tractor. It was being chased by three crows that were continually dive bombing it and pecking at it. The crows do this because the eagles rob their nests when they find them. At any rate, the eagle banked hard right in one evasive maneuver, then landed in the field about 100 feet from the tractor. This eagle stood about 3 feet tall. The crows all landed too and took up positions around the eagle at 120 degrees apart, but kept their distance at about 20 feet from the big bird. The eagle would take a couple steps towards one of the crows and they'd hop backwards and forward to keep their distance. Then the reinforcement showed up. I happened to spot the eagle's mate hurtling down out of the sky at what appeared to be approximately Mach 1.5. Just before impact, the eagle on the ground took flight, (obviously a coordinated tactic; probably pre-briefed) and the three crows that were watching the grounded eagle also took flight -- thinking they were going to get in some more pecking on the big bird. The first crow being targeted by the diving eagle never stood a snowball's chance in hell. There was a mid-air explosion of black feathers, and that crow was done. The diving eagle then banked hard left in what had to be a 9G climbing turn, using the energy it had accumulated in the dive, and hit crow #2 less than two seconds later. Another crow dead. The grounded eagle, which was now airborne and had an altitude advantage on the remaining crow that was streaking eastward in full burner, made a short dive, then banked hard right when the escaping crow tried to evade the hit. It didn't work - crow #3 bit the dust at about 20 feet AGL. This aerial battle was better than any air show I've been to, including the War Birds show at Oshkosh. The two eagles ripped the crows apart, and ate them on the ground; and, as I got closer and closer working my way across the field, I passed within 20 feet of one of them as it ate its catch. It stopped and looked at me as I went by, and you could see in the look of that bird that it knew who's Boss of the Sky. What a beautiful bird! |

Morning guys...I've been busy here this morning finishing up some things for #1's kitchen project. We got to KC about 9:30 last night. It's a pretty day here for the first day of July, not hot nor terribly muggy.
I hung doors on the corner cabinet that I had to bore holes for, for the hinges, installed the 'cover boxes inside two cabinets (to hide plumbing), attached the finish board on the bottom of the upper cabinets and trimmed those all out this morning. At some point today we will run over to #3s' house to help pack things up as she is moving next week to a newer and bigger house. There are a couple things I need to fix over there too. Speaking of car shows, I think there is one around here tonight...not sure if I'll be able to go, but maybe. Great story, Gris. I'm hoping that the story translates to the good ole USA and ISIS. We need to clean their f*#king plow. Show them we are tired of their sh!t and fight back. We've been sitting on our hands (or have had our hands tied) for so long, that the world thinks we got no balls anymore. And in reality, the one with no balls reigns from the White House. Sorry, off my soapbox. |

Good evening all.
Great story Gris. I also agree with you on terrorists. Been quiet here lately and that is a good thing. We've been spending more time at the campground than at the house. It was a bitter sweet day yesterday. I sold the Vette. It went to a good home. The person was supper happy he finally got one. I didn't want to get rid of it but it had to be done. WE WILL get another just not right away. Well we made it to July. Half the yr done and half to go. I wonder where the time has gone this yr. We have vacation coming up in just over a month. First one we've had in about 5 yrs and we are looking forward it. This yr we're going to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Then we're off to New England and back through upstate N.Y. Should take about 3 weeks. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Talk to ya'll later. |

Bittersweet indeed, Mike. I'm sure you made the choice you needed to make. Congrats on the sale and I'm sure you'll be back in a Vette soon.
