SUNNY AND A LITTLE STICKY IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. THE CHEROKEES ARE STILL CELEBRATING.

WHEN THE HENS STARTED ARRIVING FOR DARLING WIFE'S TEA PARTY YESTERDAY I E&E'D THE AREA, HIT THE FLEA MARKET, WALLY WORLD, AND CRUISED AROUND THE COUNTRYSIDE IN HARVEY TILL THE COAST WAS CLEAR. WHILE NOODLING ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD, LISTING TO THE RADIO, FLASHING LIGHTS SUDDENLY APPEARED BEHIND ME. TOOK A BIT BEFORE THERE WAS A PLACE TO PULL OVER, THEN A WAGONER COUNTY SHERIFF'S SUV WENT AROUND ME LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN PASSING A HOBO. ABOUT A QUARTER MILE DOWN THE ROAD HE TURNED OFF HIS LIGHTS AND PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY. AFTER I WENT BY I SAW HIM BACK OUT AND GO BACK THE WAY HE CAME. WHISKY TANGO FOXTROT, OVER? FALSE ALARM MAYBE.

Morning guys...I hope you don't HAVE to labor on Labor Day. I may go out to the shop to build some drawers, I may not.

I'd call that wankering Tommy. Gris, I've had them do that to me as well, made me think WTF too.

Whew!!!! I was worried.

The shop is cleaned up.

I'm going down there and put a Corvette parts list together.
Just some little nickel/dime stuff, probably will hit $500 easily.
And, somewhere there's the bracket that holds the steering column up that I painted and misplaced.

Greetings! Tommy, you call that sleeping in? I made up for sleep I missed in February. Got a bunch of rain overnight, glad I got my outdoor chores done yesterday. The words "heavy rain" are in the forecast for the next few days, too. Doesn't look promising for golf tomorrow. Maybe I should take the Vette for a spin today, since it looks like it will be garage-bound for a while.

Have a good Labor Day, yawlz!

I hate when that happens—I have parts I swear I have, but where?

Anyhow, good morning, all!

We watched the throwback race at Darlington last night. NBC really gets into it: they try to explain all the retro paint schemes, they use their old peacock, they ran a 1982 Kyle Petty Mello Yello commercial (!), and, best of all, they had Ken Squier and Ned Jarrett in the booth for a while. For NASCAR fans of a certain age (hmmm ... ), it is quite an experience.

Today, relatively quiet. Ran this morning and will work on one of the books a bit. Later this afternoon, we'll drive Lauren over to a party my sister is having. Have a good Labor Day, folks.

My neighbor called to see if I wanted to go out and shoot my new gun. Why hell YES! Drov out to his farm where there is a deep ravine in the pasture, set up some targets and ran through about 100 rounds through my new (to me) Taurus and my S&W 38. I've had that one for a while and haven't really had a chance to go shoot it. The Smith has a fairly light trigger. Both fun to shoot. I also shot his Glock 9mm and his single shot (similar to a Contender, not sure the brand/model) Fun to shoot.

Now it's back to the shop to work on drawers.

Ordering Corvette parts is such a pain in the ass, you have to look up every part on the web, can't trust the catalogs and you have compare one vendor to another. Even the premier vendors, steering column bolts that bolt the column to the peal assembly - Paragon Corvettes - 3 bolts and washers , Long Island corvette Supply - 4 Bolts, washers and nuts All for a $3.00 item.

As far as the missing steering column bracket------I found it------welded to the steering column that was packed in burble wrap.

That is the next logical (and expensive) step. Allow the teams at least some latitude to make the cars resemble the cars from another era.
