Good morning, all!

I'm kicking of a chat, which longtime Guru members will realize means that I'm likely traveling. Today it's to Cupertino, via Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and San Jose.

I continue to prep the "old car" for judging—it is now two and a half weeks away. Next step is to reprint the battery stickers and get the show battery back in the car.

Morning guys....the alarm was most unwelcome this morning. Yes I COULD have stayed in bed, but I got up. I'm not travelling like you, but have some work to do in the shop.

Good luck with the prepping for judging, John. And the rest of the gurus have a great day.

Cupertino, yuk. I used to drive over there for a once a month business meeting (which usually wasn't worth the drive

But, if you stop by the T/G/I. Fridays on Stevens Creek Blvd., look for a brass plaque on one of the bar columns. It has the names of 2 of our guys from the office, It was put up there to honor them for the amount of drinks they bought,

SUNNY STICKY AND GETTING HOT IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. AUGUST HAS STAGED A COUNTER-ATTACK. THE CHEROKEES ARE NOT AMUSED.

THE BUMBLE BEE GOT A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH, OTHER THAN THE CENTER AIR DAM, WHICH WAS PRETTY BADLY CRACKED AT THE TOP; PUT THAT ON ORDER. THE TRANS OIL COOLER LINE WAS HIT BUT NOT DAMAGED, NO LEAK NOTED. NO EXCESS TURTLE PARTS WERE FOUND. THE SMELL MUST BE FROM THE COW-FLOP IN #1 DAUGHTER'S DRIVEWAY. I DID GET A THANK YOU NOTE FROM WILEY COYOTE :-)

DROVE OVER TO FAYETTEVILLE YESTERDAY EVENING TO SEE
#2 GRANDDAUGHTER PLAY SOCCER. SHE WAS PLAYING DEFENSE AND DIDN'T GET TO DO MUCH AS THE OFFENSIVE PLAYERS ON HER TEAM KEPT MOST OF THE ACTION AT THE OTHER END OF THE FIELD. SHE DREW A GOOD TEAM THIS TIME, THEY WON THREE TO NOTHING.

HOW TO MAKE AN OLD FART'S DAY:
WOMAN IN THE IHOP PARKING LOT LOOKS AT THE TOMATO AND SAYS,"THAT'S MY DREAM CAR".

AND SPEAKING OF FARTS, THE STATE GOVERNMENT OF CALIFORNIA-CUCKOO LAND HAS ESTABLISHED LEGAL REGULATION OF COW FARTS.

Well, it may not look like it but I got quite a bit done today. I pretty much got the 'new' jointer all set up. Last night I cleaned it up real good thinking, orignally, I was going to have to re-paint it. But after I got after it with lacquer thinner, most of the grime and crappy over-sprayed paint came right off leaving the original finish shining through. So I decided NOT to re-paint it. Took sandpaper to the finished surfaces(the bed and fence) and got them all back to a usable, if not to a near new, state. Leveled out the tables and switched the motor over to run on 220V. Then came the dust collection drop. As I got it, it just had the big , 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 opening which drops the chips on the floor. I spent some time drawing up a 'collector' which interfaces with my vacuum system. I used 22 gauge galvanized metal to create the piece.

Don't you guys know methane gas is dangerous. When we milk cows in California we have to ground the cow. No smoking.
The building could explode. If a cow gets loose in town the bomb squad is called and they have to use a robotic arm to go up the cows butt to regulate the dangerous high pressure gas

Well took me 36 hours but I am way out west. Did grab a motel room for a couple of hours in Evanston WY. GS is running like a fine tuned swiss watch and I have been running around 80 to 90 the whole way.....except for the road construction areas.......I was close to Salt Lake John......took the cut off to Ogden then 84 north.

Number 1 daughter has a nice set up out here and I even get to park quicksilver in the garage......the car is filthy.....so many bugs on the front......

Good night everyone.......
