Well the home high school team lost to their arch rivals which is a town just west of here by one point last night in football......be some grumpy folks for a few days.....when uboy played I don't think we ever beat them. Smaller town but always good in sports.....Tee knows about the town rivalry thing.....

looks like a nice day out....cool this morning. I did turn on the heat last night after going and getting a new filter for the furnace.....heat pump is cranking away as we speak and when it gets really cold it switches over to propane forced air heat......takes about a 1000 gals. of propane to get thru a winter here.......I can't even tell you what the price is right now......pretty cheap I'm thinking......

Will mow the lawn and have the lawn guys apply the fall spread.......its the only one I have them do.

Not much else going on...........have a weekend Guru's......hey how about those Cubbies.........I read that Vin Scully the voice of summer who retired this year after 67 years in the booth has never seen a Cub world series win.....just to put it in perspective.......been since 1908.......now that's a curse.........I'm routing for them......

Morning guys.....Same here, clear and cool. It was 36 when I got up. Going to celebrate #3 GS birthday tonight. We didn't buy a bike for him while we were in the '
city' like we had planned. The ones at Wallyworld were just too cheaply made and the ones at the bike shop were just out of our price range. I came home, did some research, and ordered one that will be delivered this week. A higher quality bike that should last him a long time, but didn't break the bank. At least, the guy at the bike shop got us looking at the right sized frame for him.

I finished building the drawers and doors for the night stands yesterday. Do the tops today and and try to get them stained and finished this week.

Yea, we lost to ours last night too, Marcus. The big thing there is, when we first moved out here, the schools were about the same size. As the years passed, and they are only 6 miles from the 'city', they have became a bedroom community and have grown dramatically. They are now in a classification about ours, and near the middle of the class. We have stayed in the same class, but have dropped to near the bottom (only one school in the state is smaller and in our class). Their student population is more than twice ours. Makes it tough to compete.

Howdy! It's a balmy 40 here at the moment. I might have to fire up some heat out in the garage, as I will be doing a couple of oil changes today. The furnace got turned on in the house yesterday. I won a couple tickets to a pre-season Wild game in a golf tournament, so we'll be going to that tonight. Winter is right around the corner.

Enjoy your Saturday, Gurus!

I just got 165 gal. @ $1.39

But last winter was only 400 gal total.

I'm sure you're familiar with Elton John's "Your Song" - Mrs. Pianoguy and I danced to it at our wedding reception:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13GD78Bmo8s

A guy created a completely different melody and backing for it, and somehow edited Elton's vocals to fit and did some harmonizing - pretty crazy:

Bill, there is plenty of geetar and drums in there ;-)

I finished up the construction of the night stands today. They are ready for staining and my #2 GS will help me do that Monday as there is no school for him on Monday. With a bit of luck, I'll have them finished by mid week.
