Good morning Gris, overcast here too and cold. Rained a bit on me coming in this morning. Almost got hit twice. Or, well, rather I almost hit two folks. One came off the bypass into my lane instead of the one he should've gotten into, going slow as hell and I had to take the shoulder. Of course he flipped me off like I was the problem. The next one, some old lady pulling out of the smoke store did the same thing. Disability plates at that, and I'll bet I know how she got em. Took me a half hour to calm down after I got here today. Getting to visit the tax lady tonight, Arron's aunt. She tries to keep us up to snuff every year. I dread it, and he's always in a hurry. He gets a refund, I write a check.

Good Morning CGs!

Wild weather here. Had 72* last week then hail, them tornadoes, then rain, then 4" of snow all in the course of a week. Lots of damage from the hail in the area. Luckily our brand new roof didn't get damaged nor did the cars. But the videos and pictures on Facebook were pretty wild.

Letty yesterday a guy with a pickup pulling a trailer made a left out of a parking lot right in front of me while I was doing 45 mph. Not a care in the world. Glad I was paying attention. Some people just don't care.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I think Taxes or Tax should be a profanity.... like in son of a tax.... you mother taxer.... Taxation on all of ya.... I'm sorry...did you just use the T word.... go get the soap...

so we work ourselves to the bone paying way to much and then find out those liberal taxers are stealing it for themselves in all kinds of fraud schemes..... and they don't care...

ahhh... the Wednesday morning rant.... the tax rants get more volume as April gets closer..... 60 some today and warmer all week until a 91 degrees on Saturday.... winter yesterday.... summer the rest of the week....

don't use the T word Guru's

70 MPH speed limit in Florida is less of a rule and more of a polite suggestion that nobody agreed to follow.
Too slow? You’re getting tailgated by a lifted F-150 with LED headlights bright enough to interrogate you. Too fast? Doesn’t matter — there’s already a guy in a beat-up Altima doing 95 weaving through traffic like he’s late for something extremely illegal.
You try to hold a respectable 75.
Immediately passed on both sides.
One car has no headlights.
Another has its hazards on for no reason.
Somehow both are going faster than you.
And then, out of nowhere…
Brake lights.
Not gradual. Not polite.
Just a full interstate-wide decision to stop existing for 30 seconds.
No accident. No construction. No explanation.
Just vibes.
You finally get moving again and think, “Okay, we’re good.”
Wrong.
Now it’s raining.
Not normal rain. Florida rain.
The kind that erases the road, your mirrors, your sense of direction, and any belief you had in visibility. Wipers on max, still losing the fight. Meanwhile, someone flies past you doing 85 like they’ve got sonar.
And just when you think you’ve seen it all…
There’s a gator in a retention pond right next to the highway, watching traffic like it’s judging your driving choices.
No toll booth warning. No buildup. Just vibes and consequences.
Your GPS says “arrive in 2 hours.”
Florida says, “Depends… you surviving the storm or the drivers?”
And somehow, through all of this…
There is STILL someone camping in the left lane going exactly 70 like they’re honoring the Constitution.
Welcome to Florida highways.
Where speed limits are optional, weather is aggressive, and every drive feels like a group project with people who did not read the instructions.

Went on a hike this morning. Went from the back patio to the office where I am now. Paid bills. Catching up on annual memberships and soon will dig into the 2025 tax paperwork. A chore to say the least. Back to Florida winter this morning at 57*. Bbrrr! If I were to work outside today I'd wear my long legged jeans. Instead I vowed to stay indoors and plow through some paperwork. The sale of the nursery has two potential buyers. We offered them both the same deal. See who jumps first. One claims they are ready to jump. My BIL just closed on 5 acres of land he sold. Walked away 2.5 mill richer. Uncle Sam will get 500k of that because he can. Still 2 mill will fund the retirememnt if my BIL were to retire. But no. He still has 2 nusreries to run. Already has more than enough to retire. He just prefers life on the backhoe.

Sue and I are starting to thin out our possesions. Looking at who will get what when the time comes. Sonny-boy has divorced us as far as I can tell, and he was a sole heir. Sue and I will dispose of our disposable income gradually aiding the Seminole Tribe of Florida and their establishments. In the end there will still be an estate that needs to be divided to those that might still be alive. Thinking neices and nephews to get equal shares with a little something to go to our stepson. Stepson has shown little motivation to work since he quit his job a couple of years back. Sue and I are not the type of people who reward laziness and sloth.

"The Bible instructs people to be diligent and "go to the ant" to learn wisdom and hard work."

Hey guys, Summer here for the next week or so. Not sure what to think about Taxes this year. Hoping to break even. I can't wait until we HAVE to start taking some of our IRA stuff. Another reason I'm trying to back off taking on jobs. I know our kids will be getting some inheritance, I really don't see us spending all that we have accumulated.
