So the kid bought a car without really knowing a lot about vettes. Who is *not* guilty of that. He got a good deal on it, it sounds like. Maybe he can make it into a nice ride with a little bit of cash and hard work. Not the worst post I've ever seen on CF.

the thing is, EFI is such an integral part of the cars function, and it is really quite reliable.

removing it is akin to removing a limb because it needs a good manicure... follow?

Hey, thats why we join Corvette forums. To learn about Corvettes and what makes them tick. I bought a so so butchered Corvette and had no intention of going totally back to original but close. He bought that vette dirt cheap. 2000.00 bucks. Where the hell can you buy a running Corvette for 2k bucks? Hes got alot of room to restore it if he wants to. I also bought an older muscle car with butchered wiring, no computer or sensors. The previous owner started it by jumping the soleniod with a screwdriver. I had to redo all the wiring for the guages and starter. Turns out he did not have the neutral safety switch wire connected from the starter solenoid to the transmission. I did alot of cursing and throwing things, by I got it figured out and the whole car restored.
