I've had 4 GM's with Dex; all 4 had the plug. That included an '02 1-ton, bought NEW, and motor stayed running - 195k in 29 months, immaculately maintained.
Flushed it at 104k, blew out a pink plug the size of a big gumball. Dump the Dex. My |

Water wetter doesn't do much when mixed with antifreeze.
It does work well when mixed with straight water (racecars). |

I agree, Just flushed out my 96 Impala, and the whole cooling system was sludged like you would not believe. The car was purchased 2 years ago, and prior to me purchasing it the dexcool was replaced (receipts to prove). The car sat for 6 months outside and I just recently started driving it again. On my first ride it overheated. Thats when I found how bad my cooling system was sludged! I say go for the green! DG |

I heard that water wetter is the same as the jet dry detergent you buy for your dishwasher. Same ingriedients or performs the same actions. Weather its true or not, I can't say and I would not try it.

Kinda true. WW changes the surface tension on the water and that helps with cooling. It also has a waterpump lubricant and that's why I run it. But I run it in water only systems, no antifreeze. |

Hydrophilic, Hydrophobic....
Green antifreeze, Propylene Glycol type and Distilled water.... Hey! I gotsa idea. Clean out the radiator, Clean between the radiator, Make sure the water pump is not on it's last leg, make sure the entire system is clean(flushed) and watch your temps drop to ~200°F wheres CC to argue with??? |

I was gone for a week, but I'm back just in time to give you a hard time.
Anyhow, half the point of water wetter is to provide enough corrosion protection in as little volume as necessary in order to let you run more water. Water is a great coolant. Antifreeze isn't. The other advertised benefit of water wetter is to reduce surface tension to reduce spot boiling. Dishwasher fluid does this to prevent foaming. If you've ever put regular liquid soap in the dishwasher, you'll know why bubbles are bad. |

Here's a question for ya (not trying to hi-jack thread). Thus far I have only used royal purples version. How does it compare to water wetter?
