After two 2nd place finishes I have a feeling Kyle Busch is really really hungry. If he has the car, he'll get the win.

Yea, my money is on Edwards as well. I met him a couple years ago here in Columbia at a car show. He commented on my car and we talked for a few minutes. Good kid with a great career ahead of him. |

I've got my money on Kyle Busch... because he has a fast car (like everyone else) but is more willing to maim/kill anyone in his way to get the trophy.

BTW, Joey Logano SUCKS.
Maybe the expectations are too high too soon, but he's accomplished absolutly nothing so far. All I've seen this year and last is he can hop into a top 5 car and run at the back and then crash himself. Give him a 30th place car, and he'll run 4 laps down. |

Give Joey a break.
As of now, there was an 80 car pile up on the 405... er, I mean a 20 car pile up on the back straight. Either way, JGR cars are all out.... |

I don't like rain outs... it cheapens the result. I know the rules, but too many of the wrecks were caused by the fear of rain.

Well, I guess I was wrong. Vickers and Junior beat him to it. At least Junior had the sense this time to not admit he did it on purpose. What a poorly run race. If I was his boss, I'd chew him out for that, and the 2 pit road mistakes. Lucky for him none of his teammate were taken out in that. JJ spun, but I didn't see him hit anything. |

:me2:I'm thinking Juniors days maybe numbered at Hendricks. Just the way DW was talking. Yeah, I can't believe a seasoned racer like Junior would have problems bringing his car into the pits. I was really pulling for Mark Martin to win it, just once for old time sakes. Jim |

I think Tony Eury Jr is a big part of the problem. Junior was doing pretty good last year of exceeding my low expectations. He with keeping his nose clean and running consistently, but the pit road mistakes and bad pit calls were still happening regularly.
For example, he blew pit road a half dozen times over the course of a week. The in-car audio on other drivers showed the spotter counting down for the driver as he approached the pit. There's no way in hell Junior would have missed his pit if his crew was doing that, and they surely should've been. The crew also chose to pit his car despite being over the line. The driver made a mistake sure, but the crew chief needs to know that is a 1-lap penalty and radio the guys to push the car back into place. Happens all the time with other teams. Once the lug nuts are off, Jr can't do anything to correct the situation. That'd be a helluva in-car audio to listen to. They probably can't play it on network TV without a tape delay though. |

I have a scanner and listen during the races I go to. It is amazing how heated it sometimes gets between the driver and crew chief. Fun to listen to. Some drivers want laptimes and when the leader is at the line and such called out, then they get upset when they miss something because of all the chatter on there. Then other drivers tell the crew chief to not say a word as they are concentrating on their line, then they bitch because the crew chief didn't tell him that the leader was right on his ass. Really good material usually.
You are right in saying he isn't getting the support from the chief that he needs. Even if he wants less talking (which I'm not saying he does), the chief needs to prioritize and still say the important stuff. They seem to argue and disagree alot, then they don't communicate hardly at all. |

Most of the drivers are whiney primadonnas. But the crew chief still needs to answer to his boss, to hell with the driver.
Hendrick hired Jr because he's buds with him, and inherited Eury as a result. Not exactly the best way to make your business decisions. If I've got a multi-billion dollar operation, I'm not going to hire some guy just because he's a cousin of an employee. If Jr really wanted to "make it on his own terms" he would had to have signed with someone other than DEI, Hendrick or RCR. |
