Seems not to many posts in the C-3 tech but we all know these cars need constant repair. Anyone got anything going on that you would like to share? I'd like to hear and help too.

Not much for me right now - just collecting parts for winter projects.
I've currently got all the hardware to rebuild my headlight mechanisms. But while I'm at that, I'm going to attempt an electric actuator system, kinda like this one: This is the ECPB System, which we spotted at the Corvette Expo last month. It worked really nicely, but its just a little too pricey for me. Pretty sure I can come up with something similar. :thumbleft: |

Do the headlights currently work on a vacuum system? That looks nice, but for a cool G I could think of some other items to spend it on.

I'm chasing signal problems when the headlights are on, and a host of weird symptoms on all fronts of signals and lights.
Heck, the headlight warning buzzer goes off when I press on the brake pedal when the IGN is off. I have lots of body work to do when I can afford it, to get me ready for the new paint job sometime after the wedding. I also need a cam to finish my roller 405, which will get installed with the TH2004R I already have. |

Yes, they are vacuum operated, and I'm sure they worked fine when new. But after the rebuild I'm only creating about 12" of vacuum - significantly lower than stock. They are operational as-is, but could be much better. Quote:

All went well over the road trip to the Lake and back for the weekend. I lost a little over a quart of oil...most of which is stuck to the underside of the car...so I have to track down where it's coming from. Top all looks dry except around the plug at the back by the distributor. Should be an easy fix.

I'm going through my rear differential now. Apparently GM's design was a bit less than adequate, but thankfully Gary and Mike have figured out what it takes to patch them up. With their help I'll be back in the saddle, hopefully before the summer is over.
