Talk about the biggest of mixed emotions.
He used to be one of the good guys on CF... then he became a mod and turned into an absolute dictator. My heart goes out to his family in their time of loss. |

We used to chat all the time in the CFOT Bars. Sad to hear. I wonder what happened. The linked obit had no info whatsoever.

I got along great with Irishmac, even met him at a car show in St. Louis. Terrific guy and he'll be missed. Ironically, he's the one that mysteriously banned me. It's clear now that I will never know why.

I won't remember him as a moderator so much as a person who calmly helped me out of a mechanical problem I was having last year with some home equipment (pump/filter).
The guy took the time to PM a few messages over a few days, after I had posted a rant about what I perceived to be inferior craftsmanship on a name brand unit. Knowing how OT works over there, I will always remember his serious thoughts and time spent reassuring me I didn't make the wrong decisions or stupid mistakes I'm prone to do on occassion. I generally stay away from the caustic threads that caused banning, and I don't consider him a mod, but an unmet friend who helped me out. This is truely sad to hear. Mike |

Sad.
I have to say, all I knew of him was that he was the last guy to post in a lot of threads. If you know what I mean. Gotta be a really tough loss for his wife, his kids, and the staff at CF. I hope they all get through it alright. |

Unfortunately I never knew him beyond the person who banned me a few times without knowing the context of my posts.
It's a shame that perception is what many might have of him as well. I guess as mods some of us should make time to participate in the same crowds we moderate, and not let ourselves get overextended.  |

The wife and I met him at a couple of the CF Cruise-Ins. He was a nice guy in person. I was saddened to read of his passing.
