Its about 1/2 inch OD connects to the side of the throttle body.
Mine a dry rotted, stretched out, cracked all over and need replaced. The zip ties keep it from falling off but I am sure its got to be leaking. Can anyone help me with part numbers for this hose and the longer one on the other side of the switch, a description, source or anything that will help me find some replacements? I am sure not having any luck on my own. Thanks in advance. |

This would be an opportune time to do the throttle body bypass and eliminate that hose altogether.

I had the same thing, couldn't find a replacement anywhere.
Plus the IIRC the connection to the TB is larger than the switch. I ended up getting 1/2 in vacuum hose and heating one end with a heat gun, a little WD40 on the TB nipple and some cussing to get it on. The vacuum hose did not kink when I bent the 90. It's been on for 2 years now and is still OK. |

Not the coolant hose the smaller one, its vacuum I think. I am hoping it is what is causing me to have low vacuum at idle. |

Where did you find vacuum hose? All the parts stores around here only have fuel line hose they sell as vacuum. I don't know about stretching that reinforced stuff very much. |

Sorry, I must've checked my brain at the front door :-P My '96 has a little elbow-shaped coolant hose near that location, which I got rid of. Good luck with your quest - did you check RockAuto.com to see if they might have your vacuum hose? |

I replaced mine by going into my friendly NAPA store and they let me browse through all the rubber hoses on their storage racks. I found one that was "close enough" (but a little small) and it went on easily with some dielectric grease.
I think that hose is something to do with vapor burn off? |

Ok I went back up to the parts store and they let me behind the counter to brose a bit and I found something I think will work. Thank you all for the help. Still would like to know what this is for but so long as its sealed up I'm good. Thanks again.

It's the fuel vapor canister purge valve (freeking mouthful),Travis. Come to think of it, I did use fuel line.
Wait until you get the pleasure of changing the heater hose that goes from the thermostat to the surge tank next to the heatercore. The wonderful GM engineers decided that the fitting there should be a 1/16 bigger than a standard 3/4 heater hose. |

Browsing the rack is your best bet. I found a perfect molded hose like that when I did the TB bypass on my 86.

I already put the vacuum line on. It was rubber line like fuel line so I guess it could have been just not reinforced. I will see how it hold up, I am thinking it will be good for quite a while. |
