Your Social Security

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are a Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!

Our Social Security

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65% on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program.

Under Johnson, the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away' -- you may be interested in the following:

Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The

even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully
sure of what isn't so.
But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to?

A slick line and plenty of money. I'd been hearing this pawnbrokers populist radio ads about 'job fairs' and such, made me want to barf. The sick thing is, we don't even NEED a lt. gov., period. As far as S.S. goes, bend over and grab your ankles, that's what we're getting.

None of the above matters a shit to me.

It's simple. I have a contract with the government, I've put the money in (lots of it). They promise to return it to me when I retire.

When S.S. trust fund became part of the general fund (they do it in a round about way) it made it a lot easier for politicians to use the money for things it was never intended for. Could that be part of the reason it's "going broke"? I do not like being taxed two and three times on my earnings. That's just the way it is though.

What I opened with on this thread is, most often, terrorist email baloney. Why did I post it? This is an open forum, so why not place it under the scrutiny of some people I have some respect for?

It's my belief that somewhere in the middle lies the truth. The problem is sifting thru all the not-so-hidden agenda crap to find that truth. One of you stated, "Both sides needs to put their special interest groups aside and start running this Country from the MIDDLE." If both sides of the aisle would lighten up and realise their quest for political power is doing more damage than good, maybe there would be some positive changes going on.
How come normal people that are interested in seeing the country run right can't get to DC? (Another rhetorical question)

I'm not a Liberal by any stretch, but I will ask the question.... if it was wrong and the conservatives didn't agree with it.... then my million dollar question is, "Why didn't they change it ?"..... I think from 2000-2006 they had the white house and the majority in congress, but apparently, they didn't reverse any of this.... Why ?

This is my problem with all politicians.... regardless of if they agree or disagree with a policy, they do not right a wrong..... which incidently, is why we elected them, to install policy that is for the betterment of American Citizens....this doesn't just include new policy, but also repair/modification of old policy.

I don't think its a right or left issue.... I think its a politician thing... none of them seem to get anything done that truly helps us, the middle class citizen. Hence, maybe why we are a dying breed.... but I dunno, I hate politics.
