I have been suspecting a vacuum leak for some time but could not find one. I took my car, an 89 heavily modded, down off the ramps and then found this on the floor under the car. It must have dislodged as the car was tweeking getting it down. The location was left side rear of engine. I have a pencil pointing at a broken nipple. Any help as to what this is and original location would be a great help.

Thanks

Guess. Maybe the check valve on the brake booster.

Yes that is a check valve. I would suspect for the cruise control or heater/ac. Without it you definately have a vacuum leak. I am not an L98 person but on the LT1 it is located under the fuel rail cover. Local auto parts stores normally stock these.

Don't know why link does not work, but it is the heater/ac valve. Thanks

You should be able to pick one of those up for just a few bucks at NAPA, O'Reilly, Autozone, etc.

Actually, mine cost $202 at NAPA, but it came with a free low-profile floor jack.

but yes, that's the check valve for the AC system. Should be on the right of the engine.

No vac leaks , just means your vent positions will change every time you accelerate as engine vac changes.
Side port goes to a "T" where it splits to cruise and to hard line on inner wheel well to vac ball under drv side headlight
