Looks great. Are those one-offs or GM? Any concerns with cracking at the seams? Is that just body filler or special SMC resin used?

Ha, JB Weld!!!!

Body filler would crack the first time you pulled it out of the garage. And SMC (Fiberglass, too) resin has almost zero strength.

What should be used is plastic panel bonding adhesive, the 2 part stuff that's compatiable with SMC. Them a SMC mix to fill in with. Any body filler should be only 1/32 in. max.

It's that adhesive that they use to bond the body panels together on the C4 in the first place. Also, they use that stuff to reinforce the bond between the SMC and the chassis.

Remember, the C4 is this strange semi-monocoque construction.

Yep, similar to the way the reinforcements are bonded in C2s & 3s except they're std. glass.

Putting the flares on has to be done with something that's very strong. Thers's stress there especially on a track car.

Even doing it on a std. fiberglass car requires good technique. You can't just lay mat over it and think it won't crack.

Yes, Bruce also owns a C6Z06

Actually he's owned just about every type of Corvette out there. He's been racing since the 60's

Thanks, I wasn't really clear. I realize it's a glue to bond the flares on. But the green looks like body filler. I'd figure that would crack if it's just regular body filler.

These are my flares. Here are the answers to the above questions.
These are custom They were made off of molds from a clay mock up done by an auto clay modeler who used to work with Larry Shinoda.
They were installed with a two part epoxy then the finish work is body filler.
I sell these on that auction website for $275, but to forum members they are $250 for a pair. If you want a second pair to do the rear that pair is discounted to $225. Shipping is included in those prices.
Yes, the wheels in the finished pictures are C6Z06 rears with 345/19 tires. Plenty of clearance.

Very nice. Do they mount directly over the existing factory flares or is there cutting involved? Will they see any flex in the hood that could cause the body filler to crack?

They don't require that you cut the factory hood. I'll get a picture within the next day or so with a flare taped to a stock hood. My race hoods had already been trimmed back by the large tires.

Without some time in use I can't say positively, but I believe that properly bonded to the hood there will not be any cracking of the filler. The flare is pretty flexible so it will move easily with any flex of the hood. I heard of guys who have bonded GS style flares on without any cracking problems and those require a lot more filler to make a smooth transition.
Good questions. Thanks

Thanks for the answers. I think this is a great looking product that definitely serves a needed purpose. Do you have any rear shots, for the guys that want to run 11" or wider rims?

I do not have any installed yet on the rear of a car. I assume that is what you are asking for. They will quite easily cover a 12" wheel and 335 tire though on the rear.

BTW, I have set my preferences to get email notification when there is a reply to this thread but I do not get one.
Any thoughts on that?

Here are shots of the flares just taped onto a stock height, stock size wheels 86. Because the rear has a different wheel opening length at the beltline they need to be lowered and then trimmed for proper alignment. I have not trimmed these. The flares would typically be trimmed narrower, like on the car above, but we have left extra material for maximized tire coverage if you feel you need that. When trimmed back the flare lip is more perpendicular to the ground.

Have not tried it (yet)

Took the picture with them to demonstrate that these flares will give clearance with most anything you'd care to try.
