These things were all over the place but now that I'm trying to buy a set I can't find any.

I'm looking for 17x9.5 in Silver and the 38mm offset. Everyone I've called is either out of stock or won't respond to my calls.

These are the $500-$700 price range. I'm not quite hard up enough to pay $800+ for a set, so I haven't contacted those vendors (which are just marking up the same $600 wheels).

Any ideas?

No, it's just abbreviated. He wants ZR1 style wheels that will meet the 38mm offsest for the 84-87 Corvette. Though the multiple owners of the 1983 Corvettes might have a 84-87 ZR1 sitting in storage with it.

They are aftermarket rims with the correct offsets for the narrower suspension.

That's factory reproductions in Chino... they're clearing out what they have left, no silver.

OE wheels doesn't carry the 38mm offset, tried them.

Lakeshore wheel & tire in Florida is popular, but they're out of stock on silver when I called 2 weeks ago, and haven't returned any of my calls/emails since.

The vendors on CF don't carry the 84-87 offset.

I'll try Detroit wheel, they are more expensive though and still Chinese. AFS was out of stock on silver also I believe.

$780 shipped from jegs... boo.

Fuck! not in stock. They have a billion different versions listed on the site that it lets you put in your cart, yet the only one in stock is a 56mm offset in chrome.

I might opt for the polished instead. High maintenance, but at least they can be buffed back into shape. Once chrome starts to go, you can't stop it.

It would probably help if I cleaned my wheels more than once per year.

Clearcoated polished should be as durable as paint right? But silver paint won't show blemishes like bare aluminum. I like the polished look better, but I'm very, very lazy. Polished will look like ass on my car.

Don't laugh.. I'm seriously leaning toward just getting the black for $500 and then painting them a gunmetal color.

I don't mean to be snotty, but people are quick to criticize shit just because it's Chinese (including me).

But Brian, what have you seen fail? Is it something that was Chinese, in a case where you think a more expensive wheel wouldn't have?

CC, welcome to the hell I had for months back in May-July.

Nobody carries the 84-87 offset for the 5 spokes anymore. I think it finally reached a point of market saturation, and people started to go with the C5 Z06 style or C6 style wheels.

I settled for the C5 Z06 for the race car, and it took a helluva hit in an accident and became a two piece wheel.
