Good Morning CGs!

Wife and I went out last night and had a nice dinner to celebrate her bday. Kids were at grandma's, so we had a short time to enjoy the piece and quiet. Food was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our "date night" that we so rarely get.

I was pretty beat last night and once the kids were washed up and put to bed we hit the sack. Then I woke up at 3:30 wide awake. No idea why. Couldn't fall back asleep comfortably. So for the next two hours it was in and out of sleep. Finally I just got up. Oh well. Have to get back to work today. Such is life.

I noticed Brad posted about a drink last night, something called Drambuie. I have never heard of it, and went to the website http://www.drambuie.com/ but it doesn't say much other than a "whiskey liqueur" - so what should I expect if I pick up a bottle?

Good Morning! Glad you had a good night out Matt, sometimes you need a break from the little darlings. We try and schedule it on a regular basis.

Took the Vette into Lincoln for the Husker game last night. It was clear and in the 30's. I got some waves and thumbs up from folks. I had a Blackshirts flag flying and the car all shined up. It seemed to be stiffer and tended to wander on the road more then when it is warm out. I have to put it away soon but hate to. You drive all year guys don't know how good you have it!

The Huskers won but they didn't come close to the spread. 35 points I think. Final was 20 to 3. Next week Texas A&M. Enjoy you day!

To each his own on liqueur. It would be cheaper to try it at a bar.

It doesn't suit my taste. but then, I have no taste.

I very seldom have any of that sweet liqueur around but I do like Tia-Mira to sip with beer (of course).

And the occasional trailer trash flask of Peppermint Schnapps on the ski slopes.

Gotta go, F1's on TV.

Good Morning guys...I slept in again today. Matt, we haven't had a "date night" in some time, we ought to do that. About the closest thing to a date night is when the wife and I go buy groceries after church on Saturday evening....we really need to get out and do that. Not much into the hard stuff either, as a matter of fact, I haven't had a beer in probably two months.

I did get the chairs repaired yesterday, the one required building a complete new back piece of a lyre back Duncan Phyfe style. It turned out very well and people will be hard pressed to figure out which of the pieces are new. Got the cabinets that I modified delivered as well, they were very happy with the results. I picked up another little job yesterday too. So I will remain busy. Going to pickup some materials to start that one. I think I'm going to buy an impact driver and save my cordless drills from driving screws into concrete...I've burned two up doing that.

I'll check in later.

My memory of Drambuie is being a kid at my aunt and uncles for thanksgiving. My uncle had a bottle and a few people tried it, so I was like yea I can handle that.. Strong stuff pretty good, but it's been a while since I had it..

Anyway today I am going to start pulling the trans on my 95' so maybe sometime in the next couple weeks I'll be working on tearing in apart as time permits..

Greetings! I can still see my driveway, so that must mean the snow has ended. I'm lucky that I decided to quick finish up my raking and drag the snowblower out of the shed on Thursday. Doesn't look like it's gonna warm up anytime soon, so I guess we'll have to get used to this stuff.

I agree with Bill, Matt - try a little Drambuie at a bar or restaurant to see if you like it. You could also try a Rusty Nail, which is Scotch mixed with Drambuie. I also like it in coffee. My late brother always called it the Nectar of the Gods, so I give him a little toast whenever I have some.

Cleaned and dressed the leather in the cars. Washed the 91 and wiped down and detailed the 83 911. Put the car covers on the Porsches to keep them from getting dusty. Going back to the grocery store bakery today. They make a special holiday bread and I put in an order for one. Cranberry walnut bread. Should be excellent lightly toasted with butter. MMmmmm!

Sounds good.
Do you have the Whole Foods Market there? They usually have 10 - 15 different breads like that.

Not to my knowledge. Here Publix bakeries have about 15 kinds too plus cakes, cookies, eclairs, turnovers, Cuban pastries. The list goes on and on. I could easily overdose on carbs. I picked up some cubed pork steaks that I'm gonna coat with egg and Italian bread crumbs and pan fry in vegetable oil. That's whats on the menu with some cole slaw and baked potato salad. I picked up another bakerey item called Tomato Onion Focaccia to go with the meal. Dinner is at 6:00PM. Sharp.

Focaccia looks an awful lot like a small sauceless pizza. LOL

That focaccia bread looks great!

The Vikings suck. On the other hand, Schwan's Mini-Donuts are excellent.

I just heard Tony Sparano talking about Thigpens performance today. " He was in working throughout the week pulling the package" I guess that just about sums it up.

That looks really good. I have pizza dough that I made Friday in the fridge cold fermenting. Tonite is pepperoni & mushroom.

I might try to make some artisan bread this winter but I'd have to get very ambitious to do so.
