Good Morning CGs!

I don't know about beautiful, Tommy. It's supposed to be 90 here today. Almost too hot...lol. Still adjusting from going from winter to summer in a week. I started getting the pool filter put together the other night and then my wife called me away from that. I can't get 30 minutes to work on a damn project anymore. Pisses me off to no end. So now it's been sitting out there for 3 days unassembled. Maybe I'll get to it....maybe.

Won't be driving the vette today, it's miserable when it's hot. Black car, 90*, no a/c is a bad combo.

Looking forward to a long weekend coming up...is it here yet?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning everybody. I am tired also Tommy, had a late ball game last night and was all wound up when I got home so had to relax a bit before bed so it was like 12:30 when I fell asleep in the big chair......then I woke up and had to go to bed.....I'm feeling it now. I need more tutti frutty coffee to get me going!

Congrats to Sukanya Roy 14 who won the national spelling bee yesterday. She survived 20 brutal rounds and spelled Cymotrichous for the win. There is a word for the day Matt, I have no idea what it means. She is from South Abington PA. Smart folks up in PA. I never was a good speler.

I must go work today and I don't want to.....I don't know why. Gotta go get the ball rolling looking forward to the weekend. Have a good one Guru's!

Greetings! It's cloudy and muggy with a chance of rain, and it's gonna be stinkin' hot, but I decided to go topless anyway. In a couple weeks the days will start getting shorter, so I gotta make hay.

Enjoy your Friday, gurus!

Let the madness begin!! I just finished up the pre-registration file for the car show. I have 40 cars pre-registered. That is better than the previous three years. I think I'll at least have 125 to 150 cars based on prior attendance, the predicted weather (sunny and 85), and the level of advertisement etc. Crossing my fingers!

I really hope my people get some good photos, because I doubt I'll be doing much photography while I run around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I hope you all have a nice weekend. Weird that you all are having such hot temps. We had that a little bit last weekend but today is just awesome with lower humidity than usual.

Whadda day! I went in to cover for my wife at work while she was going to watch her 4 y/o neice in a play. I brought out the 91 to swap with her. I'd take the truck she'd drive the Vette. About 20 minutes after she left ........ ring ..... ring ..... Tommy, the right front tire on the Vette blew out. Did it do any damage to the vette I asked. (later when we got home she said; Funny, you asked if the vette was alright but you didn't ask if "I" was alright.) I told her I knew she was alright or she would have told me about that first. Anyway ... She was waiting for the tow truck to bring her about a mile to get some new front tires. It took over an hour for the truck to show up. Then he didn't want to tow it unless she signed a waiver. No deal. Finally she instructed the guy how to load the Vette. he tilted the bed, they layed down some boards to decrease the angle and she drove the Vette onto the tow truck bed. Just then the tow company boss showed up and he went bananas. What is she doing on the truck Anyway ... after about 2 hours they brought the car to Sears. We get a fleet discount there plus with all their brands I thought we could get a suitable set of fronts. The tires were 3 1/2 year old Firestone Wide Ovals. They couldn't get the size. Hell Firestone was across the street and THEY couldn't get the size. 265 70 R17s. My wife lost confidence in the tires. She wants a whole new set. Well long story long .... We bought a set of Bridgestone Protezas. The fronts will be 275 70 R17s The rears are 295 35 R18s and will be replaced with the same. The center tread on the tire seperated from the side walls completely. I mean steel belt and all. The center section of tire was free spinning. I know Bridgstone is the parrent company of Firestone and lately I'm none to happy with my FSWOs. I have a 5+ year old set on my 90 that's going to the dump real soon. They're cracked in the tread cuts. So that's two full sets of tires I'm buying. Luckily the 90 has all 275 40 R17s. Looks like I might be buying tires through our Tire Rack link. I took out the road hazard on these new tires. I don't usually take it but the rears cost a small fortune. I'll pay for some protection. Well as blessings go, Thank God nobody was driving at high speed when this occured. Tires can be replaced although it hurts. Hurts even more when you have to buy 2 full sets. The Porsches aren't too far behind. (all three of them). Looks like I'll be doing more than my share to stimilate the economy. By the way, the 928 should be done in two to three months. All I can say is .................

YOW !!!

In case you were wondering.... The 91 doesn't have a jack and I don't even know if there is a spare tire. It has a spare tire cover. I better look into it one of these days. I've had the 90 for 9+ years. I know it has a jack. I've never dropped the spare tire cover. Procrastination. That's what they call it.

Good to hear all is well! The jack might be in with the spare - I think they used to be in a bag there. Those were odd size tires you have on the front! I have the 8.5" rims on the front of mine, and it takes 255/45R17. The standard size for the 9.5 rim is 275/40R17 (except when they're staggered like mine, in which case they use 285's).

I know mine has a jack, I couldn't tell you if there's a spare up under that cover though.

Glad she didn't get hurt Tommy.
