Couldn't sleep so up with the chickens. Where is this month going? I gotta start having a lot more fun because the summer is headed downhill.

We are looking forward to Fall though with football going on and cooler temps. Harvest is a great time out here, to finally get the crop in the bin is the reward for a lot of hard work and hard knocks. Crisp days to take the Vette for a drive along the river as the trees are changing. Nice!

Then comes winter. Geez, that's when I think how good Tommy has it or the folks in California or Arizona. But as the Eagles used to sing....every point of refuge has it's price....so you take the good with the bad because it's where you and your family live and work.

Coffee is brewing time to roll out Guru's have a great day!

Good morning everyone. It's time for a couple of cups of Joe and a nice steamy, muscle loosening, bone soothing, eye opening shower. Then I'll pack up some boxes, load up the Yukon and bring over a load. Started scraping down the kitchen yesterday and the wife had me hanging pictures at the new place. I'm sorry that I saved all the shit I saved through the years. I have a mound of trash to generate. I wish I spent a little more time cleaning up the records and papers a few months back. Oh well....... There is no time like the present. I think we'll pretty well be over there in a week or so. Not that all the work will be done but we should be living in the house around then. I may be offline for a few days to a week so enjoy your vacation from me while I'm gone. I'll let you know when ......... Time to get crackin

Good morning gurus. I was essentially MIA yesterday. I had to report to Quantico for work. I was holed up all day "incommunicado" as Jimmy Buffet calls it.

I have not had a chance to check out the car and find out why it was stumbling at idle the other day. I need to check that out before the weekend. It seems to be ok now but I know it will show up again just when I don't need it to.

Marcus - I'm looking forward to the Fall myself. I can't believe I'm saying it but its true. This year 2011 has sucked so far and I'm praying for a positive change.

Tommy - Sounds like you are making progress. I need to do a lot of thinning out here too. I need some new file cabinets and give my shredder a workout. Seems like we save every damn piece of paper. I'd like to put them all in a pile and light them on fire!

Good Morning CGs!

Marcus, I'm looking forward to the cooler weather myself. Fall is my favorite season.

Tommy, I save too much paperwork, too. I guess after doing accounting for a while it made me save everything because so many clients saved *nothing*. I keep every bill, paper, etc, dating back one tax year. Not necessary, but I do.

The other day someone asked me if the landscaping was done around the pool. The answer is yes, I finished it about a week or two ago. I'll snap a photo later. Turned out nice.

Off to work.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Don ... Just a passing thought. Check out your plug wires and make sure they're clear of any hot metal. You could do the dark of night look at the engine bay while running a warmed up engine.

Good morning! Nice here right now, but storms will be rolling in later, so the Vette is in the garage. Made a little progress on the deck last night, getting ready to install the decking on the back stair platform.

Another passing thought. For you guys that rebuilt your engines; A running car always brings in more money than a non running car. You'll take less of a hit selling it in running condtion than if you were trying to explain how great the dead car was before it stopped running.

You: Everything works great except the motor ........

Them: ....... Really .......?

Hey guys.....I'm at school, updating computers and basically putting in my time.

Tommy, it's good to hear that things are coming together. Don, those little stumble things are unnerving. Matt, I do the same thing. When we cleaned up the basement a year ago, we found canceled checks from when we first got married....36 years ago, STUPID... Marcus, I'll bet the corn is growing high, and with the market as high it is, the farmers are smiling big. Bill, do a little nothing for me today.

Morning all.... Man, reading Tommy's housework posts each day makes me tired before I leave the house. I wish I had all that energy! I'm looking forward to cooler fall temps also, but I've not driven a vette much of the summer and just now am in one so I'd like summer to last just a wee bit longer. Made the mistake of leaving the top down night before last, got in it yesterday and there were cat feet all in there, pissed me off but lesson learned. Headed off to work in a bit, really wish I was where I didn't have to work but, don't we all? Finally was sleeping good about the time the alarm sounded.

Fun in the shop:

I was a tad concerned about getting the c2 trailing arms apart because the threads on the stub axles were screwed up and sometimes it takes a boatload of force to remove them.
Had to special order a 3/4-20 die and a spindle knocker (yea,I know).

15 wacks with my 5 lb. hammer and thay came out.

Fun,fun. Now, I'm going to have pancakes.

Hate to say it but, thank goodness for Harbor Freight. They had the only bearing puller that would fit the stub axle.
I already got $100 in tools to do the trailing arms and I'm not done yet.

Well, after work today I managed to get the grass cut and take the car out for a spin. I did two datalogs and everything looks great. No codes, IAC looks good, idles fine with AC on or not. I can't duplicate the poor idle quality that I was getting the other day. I hate it when something happens and then you can't get it to do it again. I know damn well the next time I'm sitting at a busy intersection in heavy traffic it will decide to show me how it can run like crap again. Anyway, its running good tonight and after I took it for a little spin I brought it home and washed it up to get ready for the Corvette Annapolis show on Saturday morning.

Hell, the cabinet is the cheapest thing in the shop.
$210.00

I'm an idiot for not buying one 15 years ago.
