Good Morning CGs!

Supposed to be 90* with rain today...that should help the humidity. Didn't make it to the car show last night. It was late by the time Rick got up there and I had to get the kids to bed. Maybe the next one.

Rugrat #1 had a fever last night and she was kind of cranky. A dose of tylenol and motrin seemed to help, I think she'll be better today. That coupled with rugrat #2s teething pain makes for an interesting night. Oh well. It's only sleep, right?

Maybe when they're 18 I'll get a break...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning everyone,

Now that the earthquake is behind us a Hurricane is bearing down now as well. And of course it would wait all season until Corvettes at Carlisle weekend to come ashore!

I'm hoping it stalls off shore for a day or so and doesn't hit until late Sunday but everything looks like we should start seeing poor weather conditions as early as Saturday. This will cut my Carlisle plans a day short and we will return early Sunday morning or even Saturday night depending on how things are looking. I live too close to a large body of water to not be concerned. I'm high enough above sea level to not worry too much about floods but the low lying areas in town will be inundated with water for sure if its anything like Isabel was in 2003.

I'm crossing my fingers that this storm loses its energy and doesn't create too much impact on the area.

Greetings! Beautiful morning here, nice to blast down the freeway with the top off. The blasting part lasted about 500 feet - once I ran into a gaggle of morons, the fun was over.

More like 25, Matt ;-)

Enjoy your day!

Damn those gaggle of morons....lol...it's the packs of slow moving semi's that get us out here...man can't hardly go 90 anymore. TB my wife says you are lucky to start so late but she is betting you go into June before you get out. I said I would ask. Don you live in a rough area, I was thinking how nice the seaside car show area was but everyplace has it's downsides.....except Huskerland of course. Matt you always make me smile with the memories of the kids in the early years......ahh the late night teething pains...hang in there it gets better.

Summer has returned at least the humids. Very hot yesterday and again today....I am trying not to complain though. Almost done with the field scouting for this season then we get a short break and then the sales start all over for next season.....it's the circle of life.

Hump day Guru's let's try to be smooth and sophisticated today....just to be different.....

Marcus, make the bet with her, we are out the 18th of May. Quiet right now, just the calm before the storm hits.

Good morning, all!

Another beautiful day in the Philadelphia area, so Ivelis dropped me off at the train station on her way to work in the convertible (still getting looks after 8 years).

The lifts are in and I'm starting to get comfortable with them - writing up a check list to try and avoid the obvious mistakes.

Will do....do you have early outs on Wednesdays? It's amazing how our early cars paralleled each other. I went from the Polara to a 65 Roadster and even now we have about the same cars......what happened to your 64?

No early outs, Marcus. basically 7, 55 minute periods with passing time and a short lunch break (33 minutes). I'm out the door at 3:45.

I sold my 64 to a guy about 20 miles away from where we lived (at the time), it then went to a guy in Hays...I've lost track of it now.

12:11 PM Mazda (MZDAF.PK) pulls the plug on development of the iconic RX-8, marking a probable end for rotary engine sportsters. The model was pulled off the European market last year after failing emissions standards, and the writing was on the wall for its future in the U.S. with the Obama administration's sweeping emissions goals.

In my opinion the RX-8 didn't hold a candle to the last gen RX-7 in styling. I did get a ride in an RX-8, it was pretty quick.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Well... last night at 7:30PM, I get a an email from the HR lady saying the following...

"Hello Don,

I just wanted you to know that we are very interested in you. However, Jane Doe is on vacation next week and we still have interviews to conduct this week. I will be in touch as soon as she returns, as we have multiple openings to fill.

I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday.

Kind regards,
"

So, I'm trying to read between the lines. I suspect this is positive, but not really anything solid. At least it didn't say I blew the exercise and don't come back. I also know that the hiring manager wants a one-on-one interview with me but said that she was going on vacation. So, I am just doing the waiting game and looking for other opportunities in case this one goes south on me.

Keep up the good karma guys, I think its working a bit!!!

Yea, that is positive.
Anyone in corporate America or gubermint wouldn't have bothered sending the email if they weren't interested.

Keeping fingers crossed for you, Don.
Rained again today, man I sure did want to stay in bed all day. Oh well, at least I came home to a clean house, been busting my hiney all week and weekend in here rearranging and throwing out junk and stuff. Looked like something straight out of Hoarders. Nothing like watching that show for motivation. Had another half way pleasant day at work today, not sure what's got the boss in a good mood.

Sounds like it's a good email, Don. Like saying don't flip out if you don't hear from us right away, the person who needs to interview you is out of town.
