Yesterday we worked on screens and windows. I have louvered windows across much of the house so I went window to window W-D-ing the mechanisms. My wife accidently broke one window when trying to open it. It had a small crack and the frame hung up. Small crack became a big crack. Repaired and installed some stored screens and had to have 3 screens made. Holy crap, screens are expensive for what they are. Saving a ton by doing the rescreening myself on the others that need it. I have a few more to do today and hang the ones I get back from the glass company. Chipping away at the list. The place won't be cosmeticly perfect but eveything will work when I'm done. I know the peering eyes of my friends and family will be pointing out the defects when I call the project done. For crying out loud , the house is almost 42 years old. It aint gonna be perfect. Besides, I don't like the way they build houses today. The older ones are much stronger and sturdier. They're made with heartier materials that would cost a fortune to build with in todays world. Ok ........ Enough justifying myself. Let's move on with the day. Get up off a that thing.

Greetings! Chilly again today, but the Vette's heater works fine. We're going on vacation tomorrow, so I'll be busy figuring out what I'm going to forget. The sprinkler system is being shut down today, so that is the end of that for this year. The lawn is as lush and green as it has been all year, so it did its job. I'm going to run out of fall before my projects are done.

Enjoy your Friday, everybody! And where's HCF been hiding?

Have you ever used the stretching technique by doing 2 frames at one time?

That's why I love the Guru.....where else are you going to get life altering information on a daily basis.....

Nice weekend coming up so we will try to cram 3 weeks worth of work into it....I also drained the sprinkler system yesterday but my lawn does not look as good as it could.

Last football game tonight.....its parents night so we will walk on the field with Ultraboy.....playing a very good rival team so it probably won't be pretty. Last night we helped with the team meal which is every thrusday night. The parents of the team bring the food and the team eats there after practice.......I thought man, there is a lot of food here......then like a heard of locusts the young men decended on the tables and there was very little left after they moved through.....made me laugh.

It's Friday so let's get ramped up for the weekend.....Brad the Huskers are coming to your town on Saturday....there will be a lot of Red everywhere....they spend green money though...lots of it!

Have a good day Guru's!

Marcus, tell your Huskers to go easy on us, will ya? I heard yesterday that over the last 9 meetings between Nebraska and MN, we've been outscored something like 454-48. Maybe they could tie their shoelaces together or something to keep it reasonable.

Ya it's been kinda one sided.....but the Gophers 48 points in 9 games equals 5.33 points per gam.........nevermind...maybe we can line up backwards or something........

It's called the Anal Optic Nerve, and it is responsible for

HAHAHAHAHAHA.....you guys have me laughing today. Good morning Gurus....I needed that laugh this morning. He!! I thought maybe the guy in the raincoat was Tommy, doing his best "Wilson" impersonation.

We still have two games left, tonight and then next Thursday. Tonight we are going to get our arse handed to us on a platter. Possible state champion team tonight. Next week is a game we can win though.

Kids are showing up, got to go. Have a great day.

Happy Friday Gurus!!

What's that big bright glowing thing up in the sky?

The grey skies and rain have blown out of town and we're looking at a pretty nice weekend. The wife and I will be heading out tomorrow to Nappanee, IN for the first annual Amish Acres Corvette Rally: http://www.amishacres.com/DW_WEBSITE/ ... events/corvette_rally.php

Meeting a group of fellow club members bright and early and forming a small Corvette caravan for the 90-mile cruise out. This will be the last cruise/event I do this year before putting the car away for the season next weekend.

Also, looks like we FINALLY have a solid diagnosis for my cancer. I had not one, but TWO more biopsies removed from the tumor on my forehead last week, much larger than the one that was taken back in July. They've positively identified it as "primary cutaneous follicle center B-cell lymphoma, diffuse subtype". Sounds nasty, but it's actually good news. They're thinking the tumor is isolated to the skin on my forehead, and that the swelling of my lymph nodes is likely just reactionary. I'll likely be in store for some localized radiation over the coming weeks, but I'd much rather have that than chemo. This particular type of lymphoma is usually very sensitive to radiation, and has a very good, if not excellent, prognosis.

Feeling pretty good about life in general today.

Have a good weekend all!

Ron

Good Afternoon CGs!

Trying to get back in the swing of things. My internet router broke so I was without for a few days.

Watching the kids today, but #1 is at school. Just put #2 down for a nap so I can workout. Had a nice bicep/tricep workout yesterday then a 3.5 mile run after. Today is legs and back.

I've decided no more races this year, but I want to run just casually, not focused training like last year. My goal is to do at least 2 days a week of moderate mileage throughout the winter. Then in May is the first big race of the year, a half marathon to kick off the running season. That's my goal. I'd like to beat my old time by 2 1/2 minutes. A sub 1:45 half marathon would make me happy. It's an attainable goal, as long as I can get the training in and the roads aren't filled with too much ice/snow.

Supposed to do brakes on my neighbor's truck tonight, but also supposed to go to a community halloween festival

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew
