Since I had the dash apart for radio repair, I decided to try and paint the plastic console and info. surrounds. They were showing their age.
As always, prep was key, especially removal of all old silicone treatments, etc., before sanding out the scratches and nicks. 600 grit final sand. The spray paint from MAM worked really well and as far as I am concerned turned out perfect. Smooth as a baby's behind. I just hope it holds up. Plenty of clear coat. Thanks, I had an aftermarket info. center surround installed, but the quality was poor. It was so brittle, some of the mounting tabs had broken and there were two hairline cracks in the face. The factory piece was intact but nicked and scratched. Now, with the head unit/ tuner rebuild and every thing tightened up and tidied under the dash, I hope to never go in there again.
