Howdy! I'm off to the dentist shortly, always a treat. It is a little chilly today, -10 with a wind chill of -35. If this keeps up, we're gonna have to break out the long sleeves.

Keep warm, Gurus!

58 degrees here today. So, I can leave the garage door open to exhaust fiberglass fumes.

I prepped the C2 door to lay fiberglass yesterday then started looking for an excuse not to mix resin up in the afternoon.

I finally came up with the best excuse:
"I don't want to."
That worked well, went to the casino and won $60.

Wow I was going to complain and say it's 7 here with a windchill of -11 but I think I will be glad its not what Brad has.

My step Dad gave me some of his old shotguns and pistol. It's a High Standard Sport King 22LR model. 1956 vintage and in perfect condition but was missing the clip. I was refered to a place in Minnesota called Ahlman's and I called up there and finally got through to a woman in parts. She's like...hmmmm we used to have some of those around here.....lots of rustling noises.......just a minute let me check....more noises in the background......Yes I have some of those....$28 apiece.

I said ok and send it and gave her my info and CC # and it was here the next day. Impressive. I would have to recommend them to the Guru if you need gun parts or new or used weapons. Good service means a lot to me.

Work continues as we head towards planting time. Have a great day Guru's.

Morning guys....It's not as cold here this morning. the front hasn't made it's way this far south yet. As a matter of fact, the front is actually supposed to miss us mostly and be east of us. East of here, highs in the teens and low twenties, we are supposed to get to low 40's.

More b-ball today....middle school this time. That's what January is, B-ball.

Marcus, I'm sending you a PM.

Good Morning CGs!

Got up early this morning and headed out to the garage for some cleanup. Spent over an hour cleaning, organizing, etc. I finally got the initiative to start organizing my corvette receipts. I've actually wanted to do that for years. So I started organizing those, punching holes in them and putting them in a binder. I'm a little over half done. Don't ask me why, it's just something I've always wanted to do. Kids got up and interrupted me finishing that, though. I'll finish later. I don't dare add them up, but I like to have them in one place for reference

Other than a haircut, not much planned today

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Orginizing receipts is great as long as you don't look at the bottom line. Just stack and pack. Speaking of receipts, All good gurus have their recepts and statements in order from last year in preperation for this years tax filing. Unfortunately I am not among the "good" gurus. It's still on my "I have to get to that" list.

I guess it was because of my response to the question : "List all

I replied:
"12 million illegal immigrants;

"42 million unemployable people on food stamps,
"2 million people in over 243 prisons;

This is where we worked this morning. If you made it to the top 500 on the Forbes wealthiest Americans you would be greeted here with open arms. This is where old money and new money play. Of course new money doesn't get the same respect.

Yowzers. Did you meet the dress code:

Our Dress Code is an important tradition at Ocean Reef Club and was established as a complement to the excellence in standards for which the Club is noted. It applies to all members and guests over 12 years of age. We hope that the following guidelines will be helpful in making your visit enjoyable and comfortable for you and your guests.

Dining Attire
The required attire for gentlemen in all restaurants is best described as “Keys Casual” --- collared shirts and dress trousers in the winter season and equally appropriate attire for ladies. If worn, shorts must be of walking length. Please note that blue denim (jeans) is allowed in The Islander, The Galley, Burgee Bar, Raw Bar and during breakfast service in the Ocean Room. During the winter season, sport coats are preferred on gentlemen in the member-only Golf Clubhouse with neckties optional.

Recreation Attire
Each recreational area has dress requirements, as follows:

Golf and Practice Range require collared shirts for men (no mock turtle necks) and appropriate golfing shorts or trousers. Sleeveless golf blouses with collars are permissible for ladies, as well as other appropriate golfing attire. Golf shoes must have non-metal spikes and shirt tails must be tucked in at all times.

Appropriate tennis clothing and footwear are required on the tennis courts and all-white attire must be worn on the croquet courts.

Bathing suit cover-ups as well as footwear must be worn in all areas away from the Buccaneer Island beach and pool. Thong-style bathing suits are not allowed.

Shirts must be worn for jogging, walking and other forms of exercise within the community. All shirts worn by gentlemen within the community must have sleeves.

Gentlemen are expected to remove their hats when indoors.

Unacceptable Attire
Tank tops, tank-style undershirts and jogging tops for men, crop and jogging tops for women, frayed cut-offs and tattered jeans are not acceptable attire. Shirts with sleeves are required at all times in all public areas other than the pool.

Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining our cultured family environment.

Most everybody that works in Ocean Reef lives in Homestead/Florida City. No problem finding a room for $40 a night there. The crackheads, ho's and panhandlers won't bother you you much. They have all the upscale restaurants there too like Sonny's BBQ, Golden Corral buffet, Denny's, IHOP. No Waffle House though. I have to drive clear down to Key Largo (30 minutes) if I want that fix.

Looks like it handles really well actually. The steering wheel corrections are because he's going fast (and is a good driver).

Looking at the second vid, the car does handle well. The steering wheel corrections in the turn exits are because he's drifting the car in the turns (driving at 110%) and because he has some horsepower there.

I wish you wouldn't have posted it, I have a month and a half to wait before I'm on the track.

Geeze, now I'll have to watch it 2 or 3 more times.

One day I will make it to Reno and I'm driving with you! Really! I'll have to get a car to do so, though.

And on the other topic, good luck with the brush fires!!!!!!

Damn, well I'm OK and think the worst is over. My stomach's in a fukin knot, there were flames on the ridge behind the house but the wind shifted.
My neighbor and I had the trucks running, had the birds in the truck (and the big one wasn't in a cage), we were about 2 minutes from pulling out. This was 2 hours after the police went to every house with evac orders (voluntary). And the wind shifted away from us.

Press conference just ended, our governor was shook up, said it was inconceivable that this happened again 2 months after the last one. And with what happened at the air races.

They said the evac order has been lifted for Callahan Ranch (my place) and thet the forward progress of the fire has been halted (so far),

Winds were at 80+, that can move a fire a mile in 10 minutes.
20 homes gone so far, one death.

Say a prayer for those people.

I'm leaving the race trailer hooked up and the truck packed for now.

I haven't said this in years but damn I need a drink,

Thanks for the well wishes, meant a lot.
