Good Morning CGs!

We've been getting spotty rain showers in various places. Downtown got like 1 1/3 inches, out by us we got nothing. Grass and flowers really need it. We're only around 1/3 of our normal summer rainfall numbers. Yesterday also marked the 27th day in a row of 90* or more heat. We are expected to have 7 more coming up. Wow. Now I really need to fix the a/c in the vette

Looking forward to the weekend coming up, supposed to go to the beach tomorrow with the kids. Always a good time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Yea, things to do like sand blasting C2 window channels. It took me 3 hours to remobe the old puddy & gunk that GM loves to use when they assemble cars.

Sandblasting outside sucks, your pockets get full of sand, your hair gets full of sand, your......nevermind.

I think DNBFS is in order after that.

Marriage.........

A young couple got married and went on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride immediately called her mother.
"Well," said her mother, "how was the honeymoon?"
"Oh, mama," she replied, "the honeymoon as wonderful! So romantic..."
Suddenly she burst out crying. "But, mama, as soon as we returned Sam started using the most horrible language - things I'd never heard before!
I mean, all these awful 4-letter words! You've got to take me home... PLEASE MAMA!"
"Sarah, Sarah," her mother said, "calm down! You need to stay with your husband and work this out. Now, tell me, what could be so awful? WHAT 4-letter words?"
"Please don't make me tell you, mama," wept the daughter, "I'm so embarrassed they're just too awful! COME GET ME, PLEASE!!"
"Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so upset. Tell your mother these horrible 4-letter words!"
Still sobbing, the bride said, "Oh, Mama ... he used words like: dust, wash, iron, cook..."
"I'll pick you up in twenty minutes," said the mother

UPDATE TO SECRET SERVICE SCANDAL:

The Secret Service scandal was discovered when a disagreement on how much a prostitute wanted for her services came to light.

She wanted $800.00. The Secret Service Agent offered $30.00. Several agents were terminated as a result of their actions.

How ironic is it that the only person in Washington willing to cut spending gets fired!

This last Friday, Secret Service issued new rules of conduct for on-duty agents in the field.

They can no longer get drunk, procure hookers or go to strip bars.

The rules say that from now on, if agents feel compelled to engage in such behavior, they can run for public office like everyone else.

Arr Arr.....funny. What is not funny is the heat which is getting close to being hotter then the dust bowl days which I am sure some of you still remember.....We have to mow this am so the green areas are the same height as the brown ones. If you don't get the outside work done early then it won't get done.

I am tempted to bid on a car on Ebay but am forcing myself not to.....if by some chance I would get it I would be in so much trouble....do not do it do not do it do not do it....geez I can resist anything but temptation....

Must keep mind on other things....how about a song or two...

We just went thru 3 days of 101-103 but it wasn't too bad, had decent breezes everyday.

95 today then down to really nice next week.

But it got so cold last nite that I had to shut the bedroom window.

Greetings! Looks like a nice day out there, haven't sampled it yet. We got a bunch of rain last night, cooled things down a bit temporarily, but that won't last. Got plenty of honey-do items on my list, then maybe we'll head to a cruise-in tonight if it isn't too blasted hot.

It's not nice to keep old people in suspense, Marcus :-P

Have a good day, Gurus!

10 a.m. and I'm done sandblasting, thank goodness. PIA.

I found surface rust under some paint and definatly in the window channels under the rubber/silicon goo that held the window channel/felt in.

Had to make a 90 degree sandblaster too.

Many young girls today have no idea how to care for a man or a family. I guess they thought after they married all the work would be outsourced so they'd have time to shop, get their hair, nails and pedi done. I got lucky and found a women that knows how to do things. My family background and military training helped make me self sufficient. Between my wife and I, we get everything done. Sure glad I didn't marry a high maintenance chick. Not that I've ever been out with one.

I haven't been looking at any cars for awhile now. I don't want to fall in lust. Besides, I'm heavily committed as it is. The 928 work still has to be paid for. I'm gonna have to see if the mechanic is still dragging his ass. That way I can try to have his money together by the time he's finished with the car. I'm thinking of offering him some help on the reinstall to get him moving forward. The block is on an engine rack and the heads were installed last time I checked. He was whining about having to clean up some parts. I don't know what happened to the guy. He's been doing work for us for about 8 years now. He's a good wrench and runs a profitable garage. He got into buying, fixing and selling cars. He had so much going on he rented a warehouse. For some reason his wife quit her full time job and started spending more time helping him with the car sales end. Her loss of income from work and draw on the profits of the sales ran that business broke. He lost a lot of heart after that. He's behind, trying to play catch up and it's having an emotional toll on him. The garage is still doing well but he lost two mechanics and he's trying to do it by himself and one other mechanic. Meanwhile my 928 is in pieces occupying a lift in the corner of the shop.
Like I said previously. There is no time commitment on it. I just want it done. I'm gonna have to crack that whip.

had some rain here - we've been under a drought, funny this is the rainiest drought I've ever seen. We had a couple weeks of dustballs, then it's rained here and there nearly every day.
And, I learned how to make the sun come out. I pulled out the Vette after about 3 weeks of sitting to wash it. They have construction going on behind us and it looked like a mud ball. Well, soon as I got it out the rain came. So... I packed up all my mess and put it back under the carport, but then said - heck no, I'm gonna do this, then even if it rains or they keep constructing stuff I can cover it and it'll still be clean. I started washing it while it was under the carport and lo and behold the sun is out and it's beautiful outside

I beg to differ

A lot was riding on the post Nixon Era elections and every adminstration after has dropped the ball. The House and The Senate are the key players in this debacle. So NOW it becomes critical. Critical my ass. It was critical yesteryear. Austerity measures are way behind which means we're basicly looking at bread and water type government spending. Will that happen? Hell no. Full speed ahead. Crank up the printing presses. How much does China want in bond interest? Let's spend our way out of this mess. It worked before. (Not)

He leaves evidence of the number of takes. That seems like a very expensive proposition. Maybe I'll watch it again just before bedtime. It would make for some good dreaming material. I can even throw in a little of this.
