Good Morning CGs!

Oh Tommy, you have a complex about the first post. You know I'm like the mafia? I can just make posts "disappear" with no questions asked?

Got home last night and did a little yard work. Moving dirt, leveling the stuff I did the other day....grunt work. Tonight when I get home I have to lay down the weed guard paper and stake it in, maybe start moving some rocks around. We'll see. Slowly but surely wins the race. At least when I'm done with this I can work on the vette. I think my new (hopefully correct) rotors will be here today, too. I need to get those installed.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Matthew

PS - Andy in GA, how is the house negotiation coming? Saw the pictures from yesterday and it looks very nice!

Nah. Fisrt post means nothing. Moving or combining it is the PIA. One word and the day has begun. Easy peasy.

There is only one important question I have for today, and it is .......

Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah-bomp bah-bomp?
Who put the ram
In the rama-lama ding-dong?
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo-bop shoo-bop?
Who put the dip
In the dip da-dip da-dip?

If I knew the answer to this, most of my problems would be solved. Well, that and taking my medication, most of my problems would be solved. And scoring big.

If I knew the answer, took my medication, scored big and had a harem, all my problems would be solved.

Howdy! Dark, damp and dreary here, and 25 degrees cooler than yesterday. Good day to be indoors.

I missed your post yesterday about your friend's paint booth, Bill - that is very cool! Now get crackin' ;-)

Stay dry, Gurus!

Thanks Brad, yesterday was loke winning the Lotto (sort of).
When I think about the kind of paint job that is going to go on the C2, this will probably save me closet to $5k.

This is going to rearrange the C2 agenda too.
I can build a body dolly but really don't want to (it's not a great idea to build the rolling chassis, sit the body on and paint).
So, I may leave the frame bare for now and use it as the dolly (it's much easier to wrap up a bare frame).

Either way, it looks like it's "back to bodywork" for me.

Cloudy here also but will be suprised if anything comes of it. Did I say I was having back problems....started two days ago and have made two trips to the bone cruncher and its still sore this morning. I better lay around a lot today and concentrate on the music minutes...

Reading some of the world news online today and as usual I thank the Lord I live in the United States of America....geez what a mess most of the world is.

Had all of our Scotch pines die on the west side of the house and replanted Colorado Blue Spruce and now they are all dieing.....its starting to piss me off....

Have a good day Guru's as we go about our lives....

Marcus, what pines are native to your region? Have you tried pissing on them? It may not do any good but you'll feel better about it. Hope your back gets better. Pain killers and muscle relaxers seem to help. Assuming a Brad-like position on the couch with remote in hand is also good therapy.

Do Scotch Pines require Scotch & Water?

I have a rule with all my planted things bith indoor and outdoor: "You're on your own"

If you planted apple trees and they died, at least you'd have good wood for your BBQ smoker.

When we were out in Colorado a few years back, there was some kind of disease that was killing evergreens - I wonder if that is spreading to other states?

Morning guys....boys are working on their on-line safety class required by the state now (VocEd sh!t). Brad, yes the disease that was in Colorado, is moving out. The golf course lost most of it's pines last year and many pines in town were lost too. Not much you can do for them if they get infected.

Marcus, I know the feeling of the bad back, relax and let it heal (easier said than done, I know).

Next week is homecoming week, so that means I'll be tied down for a few days with float decoration.

I'll check back in later, got to go for now.

A good portion of the day has passed yet the question of
Who put the bomp in the bomp bah-bomp bah-bomp? remains.
I guess it keeps me from wondering about What's going on under the ground?.

Tommy, that 58 Impala vert brings back memories. Except ours was white and didn't have the Continental kit on the back. It was my dad's, but sorta became mine for a little while.

The realtor just called and we have a verbal agreement on the house I posted about yesterday. It only took three weeks to get it done.

Congrats Andy.....what happens next..?

The big scotch pines we planted 20 years ago and they were on the west side of the house providing a great windbreak. Its a pine bark beetle of some kind that is taking out all of the pines in town or will. Some have tried to spray but it does not seem to help. We then put in Spruce trees and now those are being killed by something......We need the windbrake and the privicy that the tree line provided.

Andy, Sounds like you did a short sale. Anyway, Verbal agreement congrats. Looks like a nice house. How does it compare with your house you sold. Upsize? Downsize? A little of both? More yard ? Less yard?

Chevy Impala/BelAir 55 to 59 my preference was 57,56,55,58 59. Never cared for the 59. 58s have grown on me through the years. I's love to have one but so would lots of other folks. HellI wish I had one of 100 different cars. I'd need Jay Leno money for that though.

Yes, pine beetles are wiping out pine trees in the N GA mountains at a tremendous rate and no fix in sight.

We also had a 59 Chevy wagon. I about hated that car it was so ugly and handled like a boat. But we did see the USA in our 59 Chevrolet, coast to coast in fact.

Tommy, similiar, but larger. Acreage is almost identical, going from 2.8 to 2.5, but add a running stream at the back of the property. Houses are similiar, but going from 2100 sq ft to almost 4000 due to larger rooms and the extra rooms for the sunroom and the jacuzzi (hot tub) room. Present house has a two stall barn my son and I built, new one has the garage I showed in the pictures.

Corvette day today from 9 a.m. to 4.

Touched up the frame paint, it's totally done.

Worked on the diff finish.

Pulled the headlight buckets.

Cleaning up one bucket bearing assembly took over an hour and a half.

I always thought they were pretty cool. When I was a little kid, my older brother's friend bought a new '60 Impala convertible exactly like this one, right down to the black and white houndstooth-checked seats - it was a beauty:

Evening guys, another busy day. Cold front moving through and we are getting some sprinkles this evening. Much cooler 53 right now after a high yesterday of 99. Cooler for the next 7 days.

Watching and hoping the Royals can finish off Brads Twinkies.
