Morning gang.

Another nice day today with temps in the 70's and sunny skies.

Gas priced shot up ovenight by $.20 they were $3.399 yesterday and this morning it is $3.599. Looks like the bigging of the labor day hike.

Word of the Day Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Good Morning CGs!

Not much here to report since I haven't even been home the past few nights. Been spending them at the outlaws house. I can only handle so much of that. Not that they aren't great people, but we've been there 5 nights in a row for dinner. I try to tell my wife we have our own house, but for some reason that doesn't register

This weekend I will be driving home to MI to see my folks and my sister/bil/niece who will be in town. Should be a nice time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning my fellow twisted brothers and sisters. It's a great day to be alive, though any day can be a great day to be alive. We're all the the right side of the turf so let's make something of it. I'm gonna make today special. (Unless my wife comes home and pisses me off. She's working at the nursery today) Coffee hasn't kicked in yet but after it does I'll look at the list and see what tickles my fancy. I wish that something would tickle my fancy .......... Nevermind ........

Howdy! The weather here this week would make San Diego's seem crappy - just doesn't get any better. I'll be counting the minutes until I go home, since that will be the end of the work week for me.

Have a great day, Gurus!

The Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition.

Here are the winners:

1.Cashtration(n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.

2.Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole.

3.Intaxicaton: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realise it was your money to start with.

4.Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

5.Bozone ( n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.

6.Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.

7.Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high

8.Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

9.Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

10.Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)

11.Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

12.Decafalon(n.): The gruelling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

13.Glibido: All talk and no action.

14.Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

15.Arachnoleptic Fit(n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

16.Beelzebug(n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

17.Caterpallor( n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit you're eating.

The Washington Post has also published the winning submissions to its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words.

And the winners are:

1.Coffee, n. The person upon whom one coughs.

2.Flabbergasted, adj. Appalled by discovering how much weight one has gained.

3.Abdicate, v. To give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4.Esplanade, v. To attempt an explanation while drunk.

5.Willy-nilly, adj. Impotent.

6.Negligent, adj. Absentmindedly answering the door when wearing only a nightgown.

7.Lymph, v. To walk with a lisp.

8.Gargoyle, n. Olive-flavored mouthwash.

9.Flatulence, n. Emergency vehicle that picks up someone who has been run over by a steamroller.

10.Balderdash, n. A rapidly receding hairline.

11.Testicle, n. A humorous question on an exam.

12.Rectitude, n. The formal, dignified bearing adopted by proctologists.

13.Pokemon, n. A Rastafarian proctologist.

Geez I'm glad there is no Bozone layer on the Guru....wait?

the Lymph one is hilarious......those are good Brad...

60 degrees here this morning which is pretty chilly for the middle of August. Now they are talking potential early frost which would not do any favors to the late planted Soybeans....

Ultrawomanteacher is starting school tomorrow...she is in heavy remorse....can't figure out where the summer went and why they start school so early. In my day back when you had inkwells and a stove in the middle of the classroom we got out before Memorial day and went back on the Tuesday after Labor day. We got time off at Thanksgiving and Easter and at least 2 weeks at Christmas.....so what happened with that?.....and we could write and spel and do cyphering......

Anyway in about 2 weeks or so I will be getting some time off to heal up when the crops are done.

Have a glorious day Guru's.....

No..... but 3 loses to 17 wins in the last 20 isn't bad.

Hey guys...I've been up and around. Had to take the GS to the "city" again for camp. While there I met some people for a cabinet job at a doctors office.

Rained good this morning and threatens to again this afternoon. Let 'er rain, is what I say.

Got work to do. I stole Brads' post too!

The local bar was so sure that its bartender was the strongest man around that they offered a standing $1000 bet. The bartender would squeeze a lemon until all the juice ran into a glass, and hand the lemon to a patron. Anyone who could squeeze one more drop of juice out would win the money.

Many people had tried.... over time: weightlifters, longshoremen, etc., but nobody could do it. One day, this scrawny little fellow came into the bar, wearing thick glasses and a polyester suit, and said in a small voice, "I'd like to try the bet."

After the laughter had died down, the bartender said, "OK"; grabbed the lemon; and squeezed away. Then he handed the wrinkled remains of the rind to the little fellow. But the Crowd's laughter turned to total silence.... as the man clenched his little fist around the lemon.... and six drops fell into the glass.

As the crowd cheered, the bartender paid the $1000, and asked the little man: "What do you do for a living? Are you a lumberjack, a weight-lifter, or what?"

The little fellow quietly replied: "I work for the IRS."

I just heard that one on the radio yesterday, Marcus.

Still threatening to rain again. We've opened the house up and the fresh air is nice.
