Good morning gang.

Had a quiet weekend. I hope everyone else did too.

Should be nice here in N.E. Indiana with temps in the upper 70's and sunshine.

Word of the Day Monday, September 08, 2014

calvous \ KAL-vuhs \, adjective;

1. lacking all or most of the hair on the head; bald.

Origin:

Calvous is derived from the New Latin word calvus meaning “bald.”

Today is NATIONAL BOSS/EMPLOYEE EXCHANGE DAY

Each year on the Monday following Labor day, you could have the opportunity to see how the other half within your company works as it is National Boss/Employee Exchange Day.

On this day, you and your boss are to switch places for the day and see how the other one spends their day.
Can you do their job?
Can they do your job?

NATIONAL BOSS/EMPLOYEE EXCHANGE DAY HISTORY

This day was created to help bosses and employees learn an appreciation for each other. However, within our research, we were unable to find the creator of National Boss/Employee Exchange Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

Good morning

I have returned. I have a number of things I could complain about but then all I have to do is think of poor Matt.

Mama pulled through another episode of pneumonia. She has had a number of bouts with it over the past several years. Of course sonny-boy couldn't resist the opportunity to create a major ruckus while I was 250 miles away adding a little fuel to the stress fire. Sue's birthday was yesterday so I met her at the casino on the way home and we spent a few hours at the tables and machines and then had a nice dinner there with some family and friends. While I was gone I met up with my three sisters that live up in Bradenton. We each have an adult problem child. WTF is going on in the world today? Drugs, no taking responsibility for ones actions, financial mismanagement seems to be a common theme. For those of you with great kids, count yourself lucky.

Guess what Sue had dug this weekend? The hole for a pond in the back yard. It has steps for a walk out so the pigs can get in and out. It will have koi and other fish added too as well as a fountain. No reason the dogs can't enjoy it.

Greetings! The week is off to a cloudy start, and we'll have highs in the 50's by Wednesday. Oh, joy! At least we can bask in the warmth of a seemingly improved Viqueens squad.

Glad to hear your mom pulled through, Tommy! And happy belated birthday to Sue.

Have a good day, all!

Interestingly, it says the car is a 4 cylinder. I guess that's one of the problems, an LT1 that works on 4.

Out here we call that the swimming hole...good to hear your Mama has gotten better....

Monday and a few things to do....the weather remains perfect which is always a plus...

Not as cool as the pond but an epic event here as this has been 3 years in the making with a cast of one....ok two...we finally have the Iris bed planted and finished. To my wife its a dream come true.....we planted some type of Iris that blooms twice a year instead of just once...we shall see how that works...

Have a safe day Guru's....

They have the hard plastic one. Pigs don't sweat but they do like to plop in the pool. Sweating like a pig is a misnomer. Of course they'd be a lot happier if they had a swamp cooler and a shed.

I have more carefully cultivated plants than that.

I am so very sorry, Tommy... Please extend my thoughts to Sue...

Guess what Sue had dug this weekend? The hole for a pond in the back yard. It has steps for a walk out so the pigs can get in and out. It will have koi and other fish added too as well as a fountain. No reason the dogs can't enjoy it.

We are having our own little tropical wonderland...

It's raining here in SoCal again. Second time his summer! Both times caused by hurricanes that have crept out of the central Pacific and moved north. Very odd. It's in the mid-70s with 90%+ humidity. Most thick.

Poured once about 0500 for I don't know how long and again this morning for at least an hour.

Otherwise... got some little things done around the house... watched USC beat Stanford, sorta watched the Eagles beat the Jags... and read where Nebraska beat up McNeese, but only barely... not real good there Big Red!

Ya...Big Red escaped what would have been the worst defeat in history I think someone said....check out the play that won the game it was one for the ages....I posted it in the Saturday Chat I think....

In their defense we have 6 or 7 starters out on both sides of the ball....next week most of those will be back...

One guy was saying McNeese State reporters were talking about how if you let the Huskers hang around long enough they are eventually going to bite you....excuuuuse me...that is sad on so many levels....

No....the whole outlaw side was up at a small town in Northern Nebr. at my wifes Mom's place. Must have been twenty five of us watching on 3 tv's....when we won we all ran out and got in cars and went uptown and started driving main street honking the horns and and yelling and soon the whole street was filled with folks driving around honking and yelling......only in Nebraska....
