Good Morning CGs!

Hope everyone has a family filled, joyous day yesterday. We had a small party at our house, about 10-12 people total. It was a good size. Lots of food, laughter, talking, enjoying the company. Kids were spoiled ridiculously again this year. I appreciate the generosity of our family but at times it seems too much. I don't know if my children have the capability yet of appreciating what they actually have.

Gris - just read yesterday's chat, sorry to hear about the loss in the family.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning folks....I slept in. Bed not the most comfortable I've slept in. But that didn't stop me from sleeping like a log.

Lots to do today. Round two starting off.

Hidey-ho! I tried to sleep in, but failed. I will make up for it tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm still stuffed from yesterday. We play the game where everyone brings an inexpensive gift and we shake dice for them. I snagged those things you put between the console and your bucket seat that catch whatever you drop. Those will come in handy for my wife, as she has dropped her cell phone down there about 100 times. And it always seems to be my problem to fish it out of there.

Have a good day, all!

SEMI SUNNY IN THE NATIONS AT PRESENT, NOT AS PRETTY AS YESTERDAY, BUT NOT GLOOMY. HE CHEROKEES ARE REPLETE.

'TWAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS AND ALL THRU THE HOUSE,
DISORDER IS GLARING, BUT NOBODY CARES. A SATISFACTORY CHRISTMAS, KIDS AND GRANDKIDS ALL HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY GOT; THAT MAKES GRANDPA HAPPY WHEN HE PICKED THE RIGHT STUFF.

DARLING WIFE MANAGED TO LOSE HER KEYS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN HERE AND FAYETTEVILLE :-( THE DAY THERE WAS NOT TOO BAD, DIL & HER BROTHER MUCH EFFECTED, KIDS SHRUGGED IT OFF AND CARRIED ON. RESILIENCE OF YOUTH.

At the office for a while today, hope everyone enjoyed their day with family yesterday. Sorry again for your losses Bill.
Loved the afternoon sun we had yesterday, sat out in the lawn chair to enjoy it. Gloomy looking again somewhat today.

Party went well. Around 50 people total with several no shows. The pig did not cooperate and wasn't finished till most left. We cheated around half way through the cooking cycle and took off some chunks and finished it in the oven so our guests could have some. Still there were plenty of other options available. Still working on cleanup. The roasting box is clean and stored. Bit by bit I'll put the house back to normal today.
Precious, one of our older dogs, got in a fight a couple of months back with the alpha male over some food. She caught a tooth to the corner of her eye. One thing led to the next. She developed glaucoma. The pressure took her vision in that eye. Today we took her for a follow up. She has an ulcer on her now blind eye. They're going to take the eye and close her lid. It's probably for the best. Won't have to worry about further complications once she's healed.
I was talking with some of Sue's cousin yesterday reminding them of family get togethers when we were younger. How we were the younger ones, our parents were the old ones and the grandparents were the elders. Today the grandparents are gone, The parents slipped in to the elders spot and some have passed. We are now the old ones (to the young ones that weren't even around back then) and the cycle continues. Through the years if I'm fortunate I'll slip into the elder role. Better get busier living my life to the fullest now. Time passes too quickly. I have a lot I'd like to do before I require a walker. I plan to heed the advice of my elders. Do it while you're young and you can enjoy it. One day you'll be old and you won't feel up to it anymore. I hope to fulfill that prophecy, to live a long and fruitful life and leave no regrets. Live your life to the fullest one day at a time.

Thank you ........ Thank you very much ...........

Here is a pic of the piglet we pig-sat for a week. She is such a cutie and a little darling to boot. The new owner wrote on Facebook "Santa brought a pig, w/ shampoo. Lol"

Ohhh!

The pressure is off. The party is over. I've put almost everything away and cleaned up 97%. I think there is only one thing left to do right about now. ...............

See ya on the flip side ..............

We can't eat our pets. My uncle was another story. He raised his piglet with one idea in mind. (Take forefinger across throat). Year before last we went to a pig farm and hand picked our pig. I don't care much for that. Don't like to see the animal breathing. I'm OK with fish but hunter I'm not.

Round two continuing. More food, more drink, more sweets. I should take a nap, but at this time it would be called going to bed early.
