I was thinking of Alaska. There are a fair number of lumberjacks that work in that state.

Morning guys....my back hurts like crazy this morning. I wrenched it pretty good. May have to find a chiropractor. this will really slow the progress down in the kitchen. I know I'm in KC by the humidity, it's raining this morning and there's not a cloud in the sky...

Two kids off to soccer and another one is going to a recital along with grandma and #1.

Good luck to Marcus today, run hard. Tommy, keep thinking good thoughts about your vacation. You leave tomorrow or Monday?

Heading for an overnight in Seattle on Monday. Cruise begins Tuesday. I'll be staying in the Hampton Inn near the space needle in Seattle. Get to spend Monday night walking around the area, having dinner and so on. Going to Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria B.C. on the cruise. Plenty of cool weather clothing packed. Mid 40's to low 60's accompanied by some rain here and there is the Alaskan forecast.

Tom lay face down on the floor and have your grandkids walk on your back.........or find a good bone cruncher.....as we age the back is what we have to really watch out for......

Tommy better start humming North to Alaska by Johnny Horton.....Big Tommy left Seattle in the year of 16.....with Sue his partner and little Billy too.......you will have to find Billy.......

Well don't seem to need any coffee this morning.....for some reason I am wide awake......I am ready to rock......heading over by 9 the actual racing does not start till 1:00 so I am not in any hurry since I already went thru tech.

It will be interesting to see how fast the big boys run today.....so far no wind and the weather is perfect.......Ok......let's see.....go.....shift............shift........................shift.....................................shift.........win........sign autographs and hang with trophy girls.........nice!

ok forget the trophy girls........I'm married.......

Have a safe day Guru's.........I plan on it.......

STILL CLOUDY, STILL HUMID, THIS IS SURE TIRESOME.

YESTERDAY WATER WAS NOTICED SEEPING FROM UNDER THE TOILET IN DARLING WIFE'S BATHROOM. SIMPLE MATTER OF REPLACING PLUMBER'S PUTTY I THOUGHT, NO BIG DEAL. CALLED OUR HABITUAL PLUMBER. BE THERE IN AN HOUR---CALL BACK, CAN'T SHOW, BE THERE TOMORROW---SUPPER TIME CALL, CAN I COME OUT AND DO IT NOW, I I CAN HAVE TOMORROW CLEAR?---SURE, COME ON. AND THEN DW DECIDED SHE WANTED A HIGHER THRONE, AND THEN THE COMPLICATIONS BEGAN. PLUMBER GOT DONE ABOUT NINE PM. I THOUGHT ABOUT CALLING TB TO SUPERVISE :-)

TOTAL CLFK

Hidey-ho! Sunny for now - doesn't much matter, most of my chores today are indoors.

Alaska is beautiful, I'm told. Some years back, my sister and BIL were on a boat excursion up there, and people were marveling at the eagles flying around. My BIL said "Yeah, they're good eatin'"

Once you go with the higher thrones, there's no going back. We only have one left of the midget variety, down in the basement.

Back mojo, Tom, and good luck, Marcus!

Have a good day, yawlz!

The shimmy in the Yukon is gone. 4 new tires performance balanced on the wheels, 2 new rotors, brake pads, wheel bearings adjusted, center link and pitman arm (that were replaced 15 months ago and failed) were replaced. My mechanic hooked me up. I dropped it off at 03:00 yesterday afternoon, unscheduled. He came in on Saturday morning and finished it up so sonny-boy could take us to the airport on Monday with it. Sonny usually has that to drive while we're away. Thanks, Benny. He goes out of his way for us. The shop workers always tells us we're on the VIP list. Don't know what that will cost me because I won't pay him till we get back. Got a deal on some Uniroyal Laredos out the door with tax, valve stems , performance balanced, mounting and disposal for $415. That sounded good to me.

.............. Ring ............. Ring ............

Cr@p, one of the cars blew up today

Jack Beckman’s funny car blew up today at New England Dragway during today’s NHRA qualifying, and yet the most fascinating part of the incident (other than, you know, a healthy Beckman walking away from it) is how calmly he reacts to it in the moments after his car blew up in his face:

Made it through the day without blowing anything up.....I think anyway....it did get me home....but now it says I need to change the oil.....? I just put in 10.5 qts earlier this spring.......I don't get it.

The wind blew like crazy right on our noses which knocked the top ends down considerably.......this car ran 203 even with the wind in the mile....

Resized Image

I could not get enough of this car....I hung around it a lot talking to the owner a young guy who owns a manufacturing business and also had a new Z06 running....he has about 30 cars.....all bad ass.....

Me i did not do so hot......haven't seen the numbers but maybe 132 was my best in the half mile against the wind.......but I had a blast......

evening guys... ...... Long freaking day here. Didn't quit until 9pm. Still have one wall of base cabinets to come out. We fixed and moved all kinds of electrical stuff today. The original electrical work was all run in the soffet area, which we are doing away with. IO always tell people, "You never know hat you got until you tear into it", and this example is prime. Freaking wires hanging everywhere. We (mostly SIL) had some plumbing issues to deal with too. I'm beginning to like sharkbite plumbing fixtures though.

Tomorrow we will tear the last of the cabinets out, and see what is hiding behind there that we will have to deal with. We bought 7 sheets of 4 x 12 sheetrock to fix what we tore out (and will tear out tomorrow).

OH, my back has been much better today. Before we started, SIL had me lay on the floor and he did a little "adjustment". when he did it hurt like holy h3ll...for a split second, then immediate relief. Ain't saying it was completely fixed, but enough relief to allow me to work all day. Thinking I'm going to let him give me another one here pretty soon.

Tommy, have a great time, sounds like fun. Marcus, I'd say you did OK for the first time at the event. Bryan, I'd love to see those big boys run again.
