Well, CSS996 has off today, so I figured I'd pick up the slack

Hmmm...I'm new at this, so where to start?

Weather in Chicago isn't too bad today. Rained a little overnight, but it should be in the mid 50's today.

Other exciting things in the news? Nothing really. American Airlines is cancelling another 594 flights today due to safety checks, bringing the grand total to over 2,600 in the past three days. Wow.

Other than that, Cpl. Cesar Laurean, the marine accused of killing his pregnant marine girlfriend was caught in Mexico. This was after an approximate three month manhunt. Extradition could take up to a year if he fights it. We'll have to see.

Well, TGIF for most. I have to work tonight and then I'm off for three, so TGIF for me, too.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

We should see close to 85 today, Masters is in its 2nd day of the tournament. Who will make the cutoff and then the biggi quesation? Who will take the Green Jacket this year? Tiger for his 5th? Possible, need to wait and see Sunday afternoon. Everyone have a blessed weekend.

Another delightful day here - slushy rain/snow mix, at least it hasn't all been snow.

I got the old factory exhaust gasket installed and tested on the "easy" (passenger) side last night - seems to work very well. The Mr. Gasket copper gaskets I had tried were awful - really bad leaks at the bottom of each port. I have the other one in place, just need to button it all back up again.

The more I work on this car, the more I marvel at the devious nature of Corvette engineers. Thoughtful little booby traps everywhere, like the too-long stud that is used to hold the fuel lines to the heater box near the passenger side head - easy to gash yourself anytime you reach in there to do anything. Actually "reach" is more like "contort your body into unnatural positions" :-P

I took the 90 out for a spin to work. A Mustang GT was the first to intimidate. Next was a later model T/A. The usual ricers ripping by ... pppffffftttttttt. Hell even a couple construction trucks couldn't resist taking a shot. Driving home I had about one and a half seconds to power that baby up before I was on the guys ass in front of me. Then fall back into the benign 65 mph bumper to bumper onslaught of Friday night drivers rushing home to do what people do on Friday nights. Saturdays and Sundays are by far the best driving days in So Flo. The rest of the week you might as well drive a Focus. (Or a really old Civic)
