It's been two years since I lost my Vette owning brother.
He looked so forward to Memorial Day weekend. I miss him and never would have had my passion for Corvettes without him. His 1988 blue Vert still sits idle in his garage waiting for the day it will breathe new life to it's new owner, his son, on his 16th birthday. Some of you may remember my original thread two years ago. I'm grateful for your kind words then as I remember my lost friend and brother today. God bless ......

I haven't seen the original thread Tommy.

Sorry to hear of your loss. He was way too young.

His final words were so nice though. Seemed to be very concerned about those he left behind. Sign of a good man.

I'll be thinking of you and your family at this time.

Take care Tommy and thanks for sharing this with us.

My heart goes out to you Tommy. We never really get over the loss of our loved ones, especially when they left too soon. But we know that their struggle is over and that we'll see them again in due time. The best to you my friend, on this holiday weekend. I'm sure there are many good memories to fall back on when you need to.

So sorry for your loss, Tommy. I hope his son will feel a little of him every time he sits in that car.

I lost my brother 7 years ago - he developed Alzheimer's at an early age. I miss him a lot.

Tommy,

I too do not recall the original thread, but he sounds like a very special person.

I'm so sorry for your loss but try to keep those fond memories alive and keep in mind those words he wrote.

God Bless you and his family during this memorial day holiday.

I wrote the original thread in the other place but many of those folks now hang around here. I don't believe those words were written by him but "borrowed" from another wise soul. That's just the kind of guy he was. Loved by everyone who knew him. He was the give his shirt off his back kind of guy. I didn't write this to bring anybody down but lift people up. Memorial Day helps me remember him for who he was and what he loved. Most of us don't know which day will be our last, so live each day to the fullest. And to that I say... Amen..........

Regardless of who wrote them Tommy, if that's the impression he left with you and others, then it's him

Your thread doesn't bring me down bro...it lifts my spirit to know that someone cares enough to remember

And you're right my friend...we never know

God Bless everyone (yeah, even you knuckleheads at Brand X and you too Pewter ) and everyone have a happy and Safe Memorial Day weekend...

Damnit you guys, now I'm all choked up. Unfortunately, my only brother and I don't talk much. His wife and I don't see quite eye to eye.

I'm going to call him to say Hi now.

Thank you very much for prompting . I hope you have a nice weekend.

My brother and I used to always have Drambuie after dinner when we would visit - "Nectar of the Gods", he called it. A few years before he passed away, we all went on a trip to Busch Gardens in Florida. He was getting pretty bad, almost child-like, and we had to watch him like a hawk, but he had a good time. Afterwards, we were all sitting around at the hotel, and he says, "I want.....I want.....", and I said, "Drambuie?" "YES!!", he replied, and we all had a good laugh. I am having a Drambuie now, raising my glass to him and to all of your brothers.

I don't feel slighted. My heart and prayers goes out to all us who experience lifes tragedies. My little sister was taken by AIDS about 8 years ago. My dad died young. Dieing is part of living but it is never easy when it comes to the ones we love and hold dear. My hopes and prayers extend to you and your family Crash. Technology today makes thing possible that were not possible just a few short years ago. This thread is a fine example how we come together and offer support to each other in ways other than how to turn a wrench.
