Still 2.45 here. That's 35% higher!

I feel bad for all those new car buyers that bought into the $3 gas for 3 years deal. Sounded like a great idea when gas was $4.50.

I wonder what the hybrids are selling for now with these lower prices?

I got $1.94 (reg) in Raleigh this afternoon - $23 to fill the Jimmy.

Takin' the vette to Durham tomorrow to see the doc, and see about hackin' on this right leg, so that I won't have to shim my laptop so much. And stop goin' round in circles when I run fast (as if I could run again haha)(I think lots of folks spoke prophetically when they said somethin' about havin' 1 oar in the water yikes).

Course, the tank is full now, and it won't take 4 gallons to get from here to Durham, and back to south Raleigh nope.

Fill up anyway, and watch it go down on Thursday another .08 cents uh huh...

Not enough to account for the difference.

I don't understand it really. Milk at Vons costs the same whether you shop in La Jolla or Compton. Yet with gas the prices seem to depend more on how rich the locals are.

I can't say it concerns me much though.

I rode 2500 miles last month on my bike at 45 mpg combined city/hwy mpg.

1200 miles of it was work travel, which pays 60 cents per mile. So I spent $200 on gas, and work paid me over $700.

Its easy to not care about the price variations when you're only putting in 3.5 gallons at a time.

I paid $2.59 for high test tonight outside of DC.
I heard rumor at the Corvette Club meeting tonight that some high test can be had at certain stations for as low as $2.25.

What bugs me, is when it went past $3, they started charging different prices for credit vs. cash, so they could put a lower price on the big sign.

Now its dropped back down, but they're still charging 8 cents more for credit purchases.

I don't know why the credit companies let it slide, it's a violation of their policy.

Me either, the Chevron near my house, on the road up to the ski slopes, is 8 to 10 cents higher per gal than the other Chevrons and that much higher than the Shell that's only a mile and a half down the hill.

Last month, in a Raley's supermarket, they has a sign on Flogers coffee "Everyday low price - $11.23" ! Passed and went to Winco, their price - $6.58.

Here the 87 octane can vary as much as $0.80 in price depending on what part of town you're in.
