I talked to the shop today, and got a SWAG of $3-4K to fix it - pull the engine, complete tear-down, clean-up, and reassembly with whatever needs fixing. If so, that's a good thing. A high mile car, I'd go with what the other said and look at a new short block. Whatever you do, hope you get it done fast.
