So what was a moron GM engineer thinking when he designed the radiator surge tank connection? "Well, we'll just use a standard 3/4 heater hose connection at the W/P and, what the heck, we'll make it a 7/8ths on the surge tank. That will make it easy to service in the future"

Totally agree on that one. I replaced all of my hoses a year or so ago and ran into that. I can see no reason for it other than they can charge more for a replacement hose.

The guy was probably related to the yutz who decided on the placement of the front radiator shroud bolts.

Well, all I had was 3 ft of 3/4 heater hose qand said, by damn, this is going on.
It can be done with a little WD40 and a heatgun and a whole lot of swearing.

Prolly the same guy that makes me switch from SAE to Metric 50 times will working in the same thing.

Just Two days ago I was just changing a battery....had to get at least 7 different sizes of tools to do the job.

Tore down a Rotary Engine with a 10mm and 12mm Deep socket.
