Hey guys, Loooong day. Up and out early to work on the siding project...got as much done as we could, but took most of the day and still have one side to finish, we just used up all the pieces we dare use.

Not hot, but I'm wore out.

Good Evening CGs!

I missed a couple of days of chat.

Happy belated birthday to Sue, Tommy.

John, congratulations on the sale. That's a very strong number for the car.

I finished up working on the Trans am the other day. New brakes all around, I got the calpers all bled, did a quick fluid change in the clutch reservoir and change the transmission fluid.

Corvette has been running well with no hiccups. I had to stretch its legs today when an unkind motorist decided he wanted to pass me from a red light when he shouldn't have. The car is quick I'll give it that.

Hope everyone has a great day!

good morning - all is well in Arkie land. Perfect temps, perfect breeze, sun is shining and I"m in a cave. The pool truck lady wore me out yesterday over a beach ball she wanted in her logo, but other half ultimately hated it. Start over today. I have this truck, one more like and she just told me she's sending me a dump truck. Three fleet vans outside ready for pickup, they need to go, one of em has my parking spot.
Hope everyone has a great day

Press Release:
Twenty-third consecutive appearance in Monterey for Corvette Racing

CORVETTE RACING AT LAGUNA SECA: California Dreaming

· Twenty-third consecutive appearance in Monterey for Corvette Racing
· Team’s first race in IMSA since runner-up finish at 24 Hours of Le Mans
· Track saw program clinch GT Le Mans Drivers, Team titles in 2020
· GTLM points leaders Garcia, Taylor part of12:30p ET Zoom today

DETROIT(Sept. 7, 2021) – After a strong showing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Corvette Racing is back in the U.S. and returns to its quest of a second straight GT Le Mans (GTLM) title as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship starts its West Coast swing this weekend.

Picturesque WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., is the site of the Hyundai Monterey Sports Car Championship and the second race at the circuit for the mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette C8.R. Sunday’s race is the seventh of 10 points-paying events for Corvette Racing, which is coming off second- and sixth-place finishes in the GTE Pro class at Le Mans.

Laguna Seca has been a fixture on Corvette Racing’s calendar since the program’s first year of competition. It’s one of two tracks at which the team will have competed in each of its 23 years to date. The other is Sebring, and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta will be the third with the season-ending Petit Le Mans.

The Corvette C8.R raced at Laguna Seca during its 2020 debut season with Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor finishing second. The result was enough to clinch the GTLM Drivers championship and the Team title for the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette C8.R. Chevrolet went on to claim the Manufacturers title.

Garcia and Taylor return to Monterey again leading the GTLM points standings on the back of four wins including the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona.
No. 3 Corvette Media Zoom

They also were second at Le Mans in the first race there for the C8.R. Garcia has three wins at Laguna Seca and Taylor two.

Tommy Milner and Nick Tandy, teaming in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette, look to close the gap on their teammates in the GTLM standings. They teamed for a victory at Detroit and the Rolex 24 qualifying race, and added runner-up finishes at Daytona, the Watkins Glen sprint round and Lime Rock Park.

Milner, a past Laguna Seca winner, has set the fastest GTLM race lap the last two years in Monterey while Tandy was third in GTLM a year ago.

Corvette Racing will contest the Hyundai Monterey SportsCar Championship on Sept. 10-12 from WeatherTech Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. Live television coverage will air at 4 p.m. ET on Sept. 10 with live streaming coverage on TrackPass and NBC Sports Gold. Live audio coverage from IMSA Radio will be available on IMSA.com, Sirius 219, XM 202 and SiriusXM Online 992.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R:"As we have seen everywhere we've gone, the C8.R has been an upgrade in every single aspect compared to C7. I could feel that also at Laguna Seca last year. I felt like we were more competitive there than over past years. This year will be different again because we have a year's worth of development. I'm looking forward to getting back there. I like the area, I like the track and everything about the event. Maybe we can give the C8.R its first victory there."

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R:“Laguna Seca is such a unique track and is always a tricky one to get right. The surface is very slippery which usually leads to pretty high tire degradation throughout the race. Last year was obviously great. Going there and clinching the championship. This year we have the same goal, going there to execute as well as we can all weekend. We’re in a good spot in the championship, but we’re going there to win the race.”

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R:"Laguna Seca is definitely one of the most challenging tracks we go to. It's not just about its layout but also the track surface and weather conditions. It's a place that seems like all the tire data that we learn all throughout the year doesn't apply for whatever reason. It's a tricky one for sure for that reason with very low grip and traffic. I feel like we are always used to high-grip surfaces and then going there, it's quite a bit different with high degradation. Having been there already once with the C8.R, we'll have some knowledge and data to go off of."

NICK TANDY, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R:“I’m very keen for a victory at Laguna Seca. For one, Tommy and I have been so close to winning races. We just need one or two things to go our way on the No. 4 Corvette side. Second, Laguna Seca is one of the few tracks in IMSA where I haven’t won a race. It would be nice to check off both those boxes and end the season strong. It’s never easy at this track and will require a lot of work and study to get us in optimum shape going into the race. If we can keep controlling the things we can at Laguna Seca then I think we will have an excellent weekend.”

Good morning - just read through past posts, happy birthday to Sue! Congrats on the sale, John.
Nothing much around here, have a few things to do here in the office, chores await at home. Tried to keep our head down this weekend, Friday I ran errands and got other things done till 7pmish, Saturday we went to Lowes, HD etc for a few things, a couple which I need to return as they won't work for what I need, then Sunday we got up had breakfast, went othe gym and I came home and worked some in the yard. Yesterday we just sat around, pretty uneventful. Temps have been lower, with overnights being around 59 days uppper 80s, but in a week, they climb back up into the 90s. I best get to my work and see if I can make the pool people happy with their new wrap(s).
Y'all have a good one

HI TEE.

IT'S A NICE FALL LIKE MORNING HERE, SUNNY, 70/74, 93 THE PREDICTED HIGH.

TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR FRONT END WORK, AT 150K MILES IT WAS GETTING A BIT DRIFTY ON THE HIGHWAY. I FEAR 'THIS NOT BE CHEAP'. THE WRENCHMEISTER IS BUYING A 2001 Z06 TO REPLACE THE THE '93 THAT WAS LOST WHEN HIS BARN BURNED. HE'S SUPPOSED TO PICK IT UP TODAY IN TULSA.

HAD A NICE VISIT WITH BIG DAUGHTER AND FAMILY YESTERDAY EVENING, #3 GRANDSON (THE BIG CHEESE) AND LA MEXICANA WERE THERE. HAVEN'T SEEN MUCH OF THEM SINCE HE WENT TO WORK IN MO. SHE'S STILL IN SCHOOL, I GUESS THEY WILL MARRY WHEN SHE GETS OUT.

GOT A FEW ERRANDS TO RUN, GOOD EXCUSE TO PUT THE TOP DOWN :-)

MISSED YOUR POST TOMMY. HIPPO BIRDIE TWO SUE.

KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT LIFETIME EXPECTATIONS. I DIDN'T THINK I'D BE COMING BACK FROM THE SECOND VN TOUR. HAD A BAD FEELING BEFORE I WENT BUT NOTHING HAPPENED OTHER THAN A FEW CLOSE CALLS. AFTER THAT I DECIDED I'D JUST LIVE TILL I DIE.

Sue's B-day today. She turns the big 6-Ohhhhh. Do ya know what freaks me out? Seeing how old everybody from my youth is getting. Those that aren't dying that is. I have no reason to complain though. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would make it into my 60's. A few modest lifestyle changes while I was in my mid 40's helped make that possible. I like my life now better than any earlier stages of my life. I can live a free lifestyle as I did in my youth but now I have money.

Take a few minutes and watch this.

Up a bit early this morning....going over to help the guy I helped re-side his house a couple weeks ago, now he needs help re-siding his lawn building. Should get quite a bit done on it today. Got some other stuff in the shop to do later.

Supposed to be near normal, temp-wise today and the possibility of some moisture...we need it. The latest map shows us as extreme drought......

Hey guys, slept in a bit. Then headed over to the
city' to pick up a few items for the week. Once home we unloaded and then I started the smoker with some ribs on there. Worked in the shop on a couple of 'rejected chairs' headed to the dump. Between my repairs and Rosie making new seat and back pads, we will have a couple of nice rocking chairs.

Got a couple more hours for the ribs on the grill, then GS #1 and his wife, and #3 GS will come over to help us eat those....maybe #2 and hubby will be home from "Rocklahoma" and they will come over too.

Not extremely hot, but kind of humid today, and breezy.

About time to unwrap the ribs, then another hour on the grill.

Computer related issue continued. Sue has a way of adding stress to stress. Like I can do something about it. Motherboard is toast. Ordered a replacement computer that won't be here till Friday. Then the programs and files still need to be transferred. Of course Sue wants to know why I can't just whip everything up today.

Unnecessary, perhaps. The polite thing to do? For sure.

The auction is going great, too. Awesome!

IT'S RATHER NICE IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, SUNNY, 66 DEGREES, 85% HUMIDITY AT 0823 HR. SEEMS LIKE FALL, BUT I DOUBT IT WILL LAST. SUMMER WILL COUNTERATTACK.

AUTO ROTATION DAY, THE TOMATO GOES IN THE READY RACK. NO RAIN IN THE FORECAST, MAY EVEN GET TO PUT THE TOP DOWN IF IT'S NOT TOO HOT.

MAY MAKE AN H&I VISIT TO OKMULGEE, IF DARLING WIFE FEELS UP TO IT.

Good Evening CGs!

That's how I feel, Gris. I don't think I'm old until I have to get off the floor when I kneel down

Did a full brake job and flush on the trans am. Went for a test drive yesterday and the shims were screaming for mercy. Wtf. Had to take the brakes apart again this morning. The shims were not made correctly and I had to take them off and bend them into shape. Same exact thing on my buddy's TA. Weird. But now it's perfect. I just hate it when new parts don't function as intended.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hi everyone.
Just got done reading up on the past few days.
Glad everyone made it thru the weather ok.
We’re having a low key weekend here it seems. Tomorrow is
CB Jr’s 26th birthday and he’s fighting health issues again. Food allergies for the most part. We never know what will/won’t set it off.
The knee is coming along fine. Can’t seem to develop any kind of endurance in it. Standing in line at the store was a killer.
That’s about all I have today.
Have a good Labor Day everyone.

Oh, yesterday, we were up early (5am) to leave and go to Hays (north Central about 3 hours away) to watch GS #3 run his cross country race.... a long ways to go for a 22 minute race, but he really appreciated it. We had about an inch of rain Friday night/Saturday morning and it sprinkled on us most of the way up to Hays, so the Caddy needed a bath when we got home. Did that and went to church at 6 at the next town over.

Afternoon guys, up around 8 then prepped for GS to bring his Caddy over to replace drivers side front wheel bearing, sway bar link and oil pressure sensor, That took about three hours. Was hoping GS would come over early, so I could utilize the cool temps, but, he didn't get here until a little after 10, still not terribly hot, but by the time I finished up, my shirt, shorts, underwear, socks and shoes were soaked. To change the OP sensor, I had to remove the high pressure line from the PS pump, and ALL the fluid ran out on the floor while I change the sensor, so I got to clean that up too. Luckily, I have a lot of saw dust/shavings and it works great for soaking up that mess, sweep that up and then just throw some grease cleaning soap down and scrub with the broom a little and wash it down.

I taken a shower already and watching the Royals...we are winning right now, but that could change before the game is over.
