If you want another source go talk to Gene at electrodynamics for his set at 300 bucks.

Another source is wdo mkr, good luck getting a set from him as well. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showp ... 61715450&postcount=70

Guys, these things are feast and famine. I try not to stock much of these and in the past my machinist/plater hae been able to turn out these sets in 3-4 weeks. Typically a batch will last me 6 weeks.I do not make much on these by the time I get them made and plated, I include high quality hardware and then include shipping. My next batch I think I will start to increase the price.

Most of you jumped onto a list when I was still on the CF before I was banned. Well after being banned and not having any access to PM's, well, I had no names to go by.

Eclipse and Nak are some of the more plain looking head units.

The ones I like though are the older Alpine head units from the 96-00 years. They are solid built units from Japan, not the crappy stuff they sell now.

Where does it say it is a HotCam conversion? It is my toy that I drive when I want to feel good. Extra Horsepower feels good.

I purposely left off the pedigree of the replacement cam to head off the HotCam debate and I'll be damned if it didn't happen anyway. All I care about is lifters. Let's try to stick to that!

I could care less if it's a hot cam or a cc306 or anything else. You are wanting more power. Spend the hundred bucks on the lifters or don't.

Correction, turns out the trans is in fact remanufactured by ZF themselves in 1994. Looks brand new though. Wouldn't surprise me if all the remaining ones are this way. I imagine the supply of new transmissions was used up long ago.

If someone like ZF is gonna do a limited run of 60,000 transmissions, I presume they'd only have a few thousand surplus for factory replacement, right?

Kevin, if it was a ZF rebuild, it would have a silver sticker plate noting "Remanufactured for General Motors". I will say the two that I bought back during the tranny dump, both had the sticker that and were brand new. There was not a single mark on the mounting flanges to show it had been used.

The story behind them was ZF was warehousing them, and GM did not want them in inventory, so GM blew them out at 995 per trans for either LT5 or LT1.

In my book its a waste of money to go replacing fine lifters on a roller cam with only 50k miles. If you have some extra cash and don't NEED other stuff, then yes, replacements would be an insurance policy. But I bet your old ones are as good as new if you maintained the car and changed the oil regularly and had no problems. 50k miles is hardly broken in.

That's a big "if" if he is not the original owner. It amazes me as to what some Vette owners neglect to do. I imagine since he is doing a hot cam conversion, he probably does not Sunday drive the vehicle. It probably sees some high rpm use.

You're in there, might as well for some piece of mind. I'd suggest using the upgraded LS7 lifter. It's a direct replacement. I can sell them at 135 shipped.

A cops job is not to decide the right or wrong on the side of the road. He is there to enforce it. It is then up to you to fight it in court with your evidence and make the appropriate corrections to ensure it from happening again.

Exasperated I finally got them tonight. I'm changing machine shops as well. 3 months on this last order was asinine.

email me at info@pnwzr1.com for brackets and I'll send out payment info.

Not fond of them because they won't sell in bulk. Mainly the detailing spray. With Adams I can get it in gallon jugs. Plus I get a nice discount from Adams.

Sorry, Eli was never a punk ass loser. That was Ryan Leaf. He has carried himself very well considering the pedigree he has had to live up to.

His father was a awesome college QB, played a great NFL career even though he played on a crap team.

His oldest brother Cooper was a good receiver at Ole Miss before a spinal issue made him quit in college.

Peyton all world in College and in pro.

That is a very tough family line.

to get DEALER ONLY parts. I have been searching the net and the dealerships website, gm parts sites etc have varied prices. Some are very different. I found one steering column go from 1400 to 1100 for the same part, yet they were opposite in the housing price as the cheaper place to get the column had the sterring tilt housing for 100 bucks more. Their list prices are/were different too.
So, I know Chris May gives good deals, but has anyone found a cheaper place.

Problem is Steve, you are in Hawaii and shipping will be heinous. Let me know what you are in the market for and I'll shoot you back what I can sell for.

Frank, first of all thanks for everything you did over there. You held the C4 group together as long as you could. Just like all the other forums, the CF has become C5/C6 centric only. There are no C4 only vendors as there is for the C5 & C6 cars. Which is probably one reason why they don't give two shits about us.

I imagine one thing they did not like was the fact I was skirting as a vendor but not paying the astronomical 330 bucks a month to advertise. I'm small, a one man operation and there is no way I can afford 4,000 a year to advertise there.

Compound the fact that I have had some hot girl avatars (the one I currently have here got savewaves panties knotted up) and some run ins with retards on the forum. And they figured it was best for me to take my knowledge and leave. I plan on blocking all my images that I currently host on my websites and put up a hotlinking image to direct them to my website.

I would say those are my brackets, but they are not stamped with PNWZR1 and I haven't sold any to Europe.

One thing you may want to take a look at is the metal tangs that fit in the abutment bracket, depending upon the rotor they may rub. Take the tang out and grind on it with a bench grinder some to get some more clearance.

Also check the clearance between the edge of the diameter of the rotor and the tang as well. If it does not fit flush against the abutment bracket, it will hang down and grind on the edge of the rotor.

Brian, pass on the Rover. They are garbage.

Find a 00 or newer silverado or sierra. 1500 series will be fine for what you are towing. Just get the 6.0 liter.

No it's only purpose is for the ABS to know which way the car is going.

It's usually mounted beneath the stereo. Well at least on the 90-96 cars it is.

I would definately ask some questions before doing anything. I agree the rules are kind of vague at the most, and by leaving the factory tank in, you don't need the metal plate?

And by Melrose, yes the t-top place. Talk to Chris or Dave.

In all honesty, if you are going for a Sirius unit, get one of the sportser models. The best feature they have is the buffer so you can pause and rewind.

I will second the notion of getting a dedicated headunit, as FM reception sucks. They sounds is lower compared to a regular radio station and static interference pops up to often.

Also, do give a try with mounting the antennae inside the bumper and see how you do reception wise. Makes for a much cleaner install.

I have two options - use a bladder that fits in my original location ($1600) or replace the tank with a standard size cel. I'm concerned that the aluminum frame back there is a little soft to build to. Plus, I need a full steel firewall between the cel and the passenger compartment, which does not allow me to cut into the floor in the rear deck and stick it forward very far.

As for location, it can be moved but has to be within 12" of the original tank. If they review it and deem it too low for safety I'll have to move it, but I don't think that will be a big deal.

It can't be tied to the cage, so I think I'll add on later. Initially I wanted to tie the support into the cage but later read that it's illegal.

Melrose at one time had new mounting bracket and a ATL fuel cell option. You might check with them.

THe other option is to do some fab work yourself and make a new mount utilizing the factory mount for the rear crash brace. And then fit in a smaller fuel cell of say 10 gallons since you are probably not doing much in the way of endurance racing.

What groups rules are you trying to meet?
