Don, appears that all your worying paid off. Nice weather I assume? If you were turning cars away that's a good sign.

Me, I am finishing up the cabinets for the in-laws today, and if all goes well I'll be installing them this weekend. got a reprieve from the grandsons this morning, so I am easily going to finish up the cabinets. Then I need to go out and finish cleaning up the pickup after the trip to KC this past weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Got up and around this morning, been to church already. I'm looking at the 6 + hour drive back home, so I'm resting up for that.

Scales? Never step on them, I don't want to know the bad news.... Not usually my back that gives me trouble, but my knees. They've been pretty good here recently, but that could change overnight.

I have a little work left to do on the in-laws cabinets next week, and I hope that I can get them installed next weekend. I bet this week goes by fast.

Evening gurus....

I was sleeping so soundly this morning (that 6 1/2 hour drive really pooped me out), ans then the daughter woke us up to go to the middle granddaughters soccer games. Dam* it hot and humid in KC. After that we went over to #3 daughters house to see them for a while, took a nap and watched their daughter (granddaughter #4)while they went out to play tennis. Then off to see #1 daughters oldest play her soccer game. More sun and humidity....

Glad to hear that everyone is having a good weekend.. I think I'll go to bed....

Morning.....I got everything done that I planned yesterday and then some. Got the Corvette aligned, the guys that did it were really cool, let me down in the pit and explained everything they were doing and why. The tech said that the Corvette was extremely picky about the settings and said he bet that it was very precise. They spent an hour and forty five minutes on it.

I got stuff loaded in the pickup ready to take the two granddaughters home as soon as the wife gets off work. Not really looking forward to the 6+ hour drive.

I need to get off here and go do some work, and the granddaughter want to play on Webkinz.....CUL8R

Bill, Adams stuff is great. I was a Zaino guy for many years, and then tried the Adams Polishes and I like them a whole lot better. They have a complete line of stuff for cleaning and detailing. I used VRT (Vinyl Rubber and Tire) dressing on all the under hood stuff yesterday and it looks great.

Don, you're going to have a long wait for the "In and Out spray", government made them take it off the market, too many VOCs is what I understand. Have you tried the undercarriage spray? That stuff works like nothing I've used. Good luck, I certainly hope you have a great turnout.

Tommy, you are right old cars have things that need fixing and it's obvious that you do them right, that's a feather in your cap.

Chris hang in there, those meetings will hopefully lead to more work.

Matt how is the little ones hands/fingers? I sure that she'll bounce back.

It's a beautiful day here in SW Kansas. 60 right now the sun is shining and the wind isn't blowing. Looking for a high today of low 80's. I've been out to the shop spraying the last coat of finish on the doors and drawer fronts. Later I'll get the hinges on the doors and get them mounted. Then the drawer slides can go on. After that I'll get the adjustable shelves made.

I guess we are going to make the trip to KC tomorrow to take the granddaughters back home...I thought we were going to meet them half-way, but the wife says we need to take a daybed up to the other daughters house and we can kill two birds with one stone. We have to go back the next weekend as well, as the youngest granddaughter (the one getting the daybed) is turning two and they are having a party for her then. So we will be burning up the road to KC. It's a 410 mile drive one way. But by taking the girls home this weekend and delivering the daybed, we can take the Corvette next weekend.

Anybody else noticing the gas prices jumped over Memorial day weekend? In the last 10 days it's gone up here by $.48/gallon.

OK I guess I've made this post long enough. Later guys.

Don, they are kids....I guess I try to hope that they are trying to learn something. I can tell you that the C5 section is full of immature weasels as well. These are kids with more money than brains....but then again what do I know?

Afternoon Gurus....The in-laws left this morning, I sent the upper cabinets home with them, as I wouldn't have room for all of the cabinets in my pickup. This saves me or them another trip out here to get all the cabinets. Been working on the doors, edges are all routed and finish sanded. I am spraying the first coat of lacquer on this afternoon. Looks like I'll have them done by the end of the weekend.

Today started off cloudy and overcast, but the clouds have broken and it has turned out to be a very pretty day. North breeze is keeping things cool (mid 60's).

My middle grandson had his tonsils out this morning, I went up to the hospital a while ago to see how he was doing....poor little guy, but he'll be OK soon.

Tomorrow I take the Vette over to have it aligned. I always do that when I put new tires on. I just hate to think that a poor alignment would cause the tires to wear faster than they should. I would say that is a sagacious on my part.

Worked my tail off again today. Got the drawers built the face frames on and sanded, the panels for the doors glued up and the shop cleaned up a bit. It's been a long day. The daughter and family left a little before noon (over 6 hour drive for them), but we still have the 2 older girls, they get to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for the week. The in-laws are still here as FIL is still helping me get the cabinets built. Sure hope some of you had a restful holiday, it'll make up for mine.

Well, I got all the face frames built, then after lunch I went back out and started machining the parts for the doors. I just finished that up. Tomorrow I'll get the face frames on the cabinet boxes then I'll start on getting the doors and drawers assembled. I have to admit, my FIL and SIL are really good help.

Getting on the computer a lot earlier today. I am still working on removing those f'n viruses. Sometime people just don't think. I guess they believe if you have an antivirus you're safe.....uuhhhhggg.

planning on going out after while and get started on the face frames for the cabinets I am building, but that all I really have on the books today, with the oldest daughter and familly here I'm sure that will change though. Have a good day.

Well guys, I nearly didn't make it here today. It's been one busy day for me. The in-laws came yesterday afternoon for a working visit (more later), I got checked out from school and headed over to the "city" to get the new tires on the Vette (I love the new Michelins), my oldest daughter and her family got here about 7pm last night for a long visit. I had planned on detailing the daughter minivan, so I got it washed and claybarred last night by 10pm.

This morning I got up pretty early and started the polishing of the black metallic Honda and worked about 4 hours on it. It looks pretty good too.

Got it done just in time for her to take it out to her 15 year reunion get together.

So the father-in-law and I went out to the shop. I am building them all new kitchen cabinets for their house. I could do it without his help, but he wants to "help", so they are here for a week or so helping. I had started on them Thursday after school, getting many of the parts machined. So today FIL and I assembled the cabinets. Tomorrow I start building the face-frames, then the doors and drawers. That took me up to about 5pm. Cleaned up and went to church. Our minister was having problems with his laptop, so he asked me to see if I could take care of it. So I have been working on it for about three hours now. Having a hard time keeping my eyes open, so I think I'll call it a night.

I think I'm ready for school to start again....I work way too hard when I'm home.....

Matt, that the way we learn, by mistakes. Your wife, you and Samantha have all learned a good lesson. You will all survive this one, and you might need to change some things. But tell your wife to not beat herself up over it, learn from it. Personally, I think we are WAAAAAY overprotective of our kids today, they need to have scrapes and cuts and little accidents. Dirt under their fingernails and filthy faces, eating mud pies and just being kids. I survived all those things and so have millions of people my age.

Schools out for the kids, I have today to finish up all of the paperwork and then I'm done as well. I started the kitchen cabinets for the in-laws yesterday, actually made good progress. Today after school I take the Corvette over and have the new shoes put on, I'll have to get an alignment scheduled as well.

Have a good day.

Last day of school for the kids, last for me tomorrow Isn't it a great world? Supposed to be a little cooler today and the wind isn't supposed to blow quite as hard. Pools? Well the city pool is going to open tomorrow, doubt I make it more than 2 or 3 times this summer. While my three girls were still around we lived at the pool, they all three swam competitively.

32 and 33 years, that great our 34th is coming up in August. Every body have a great day!

First off, if you follow the daily exploits, you know I'm on the short end of a yearly adventure (school will be out for kids tomorrow), YEEAAAA.

Well, I get home today and I have a message that my new tires for the Corvette are in.....YEEAAAAA.

Then I find that my new Garmin came in today..YEEAAAA.

When I sit down to read the emails I find I have won $500 for filling out a survey. The radio station I listen to wanted feedback on the playlist, so I spent an hour and a half going through the list. And in the end my name was selected for the $500. I have called and talked to the program director and sure enough I have won. A BIG YEEAAAAAAA

I don't believe that for a second. I would call a different dealership.

Anyhow, you'll find the key anyways three hours after you pay out the ass for a new one.

Dang Chris, I can't say I know what you are going through, but I think I have an idea. Parkinsons? My MIL (81 years old) has it and this year (January and February) she had two implants set in the brain to control the seizures/tremors, kind of like pace makers do with the heart. Anyway for the last 3 years she hasn't wanted to do anything, was a bit hard to get along with at times. Now since the implants she is back to being herself, the difference is amazing. At 61 and not being able to do things she should be able to do has to make her crazy, and acting out, probably, is her way of dealing with it. Trying to maintain her freedom/destiny, even though she knows better.

Maybe she would be a candidate for this type of surgery as well. Who knows she might have a change of personality.

Morning, our weather has been like pianoguy's. Blast furnace, makes it hard to want to play golf. Today and tomorrow for kids, then one more to check out and I'm done for the summer. This school year went by extremely fast. I have one more year and then it will be retirement (from teaching) for me. I just hope next year goes by as fast.

Got oldest daughter and family coming in for the long weekend, they live 7 hours away so this is going to be a good visit, haven't seen those grandkids in two months.

Looks to be in the 90's here today, but the wind is supposed to blow 20-40 with gusts to 50 so it will feel like a blast furnace. Not to worry, I'll stay inside with the AC on if I need to.

Cleaning the shop here at school today, tonight I have the open house, so the kids can show their work.

Didn't play too well last at men's golf, our team was just -3 not anywhere near good enough to win, but the food was good, so all is well with the world.

We had a 4.2 or 4.3 here in western Kansas about 20 years ago. About 10:30 at night, nearly shook me out of bed. At first I got up and went outside to find the car that had run into my house. When I got out there several of the neighbors were out looking around too. So I knew what it must have been. I came to school the next day and told everyone and they called me an idiot, "Kansas doesn't have earthquakes.." but I was right and they were wrong. No damage at that time, as the center was about 5 miles from town, and the cattle in the feedyards and all the farm ground survived. :-)

Small classes due to the seniors being gone, last week for the school. YEA....I am having an open house tomorrow evening to show the community what my students have done this year, so the next couple of days will be spent cleaning the shop here at school.

You all have a great day!

Afternoon Gurus....not much going on here today. Yesterday afternoon we had graduation, and then we made our appearances at the parties we had been invited to, ate lots of food.

Today I spent the morning out in the shop cleaning and prepping for my first big project of the summer. A set of kitchen cabinets for my in-laws. I hope to have them started by the end of the week (waiting for materials to come in, and for cr@p at school to slow a bit), and I am planning on having them built, finished and installed by the end of June.

Good morning gurus....After school yesterday I took each wheel off the Vette and washed all the brake dust and grim off the inside of the wheel, then used Zaino on them. Makes the wheels look completely different now that you can see the polished "barrel" back behind. I'm actually just getting ready for when I get the new tires for it. While doing so I can see where my left front tire is wearing a little funny on the inside, the drivers rear has a couple of plugs, and the right front has a nail or screw in it...not leaking, so I left it alone. New tires should be here next week.

Today I need to go install a new sign that I made for our church. Then later is our graduation, my principal likes for the teachers to be there. We sit in rows right behind the graduates. Keep in mind, this is a small school, I think this year we have 56 graduating and our teaching staff is about 20. After graduation I have been invited to several of the seniors parties, which for those who invited me, I try to make an appearance.

BTW, that a great song, brought tears to my eyes. My kids have all gone past that stage, now I am trying to get through the same things with my grandkids. The oldest is 12, only swwms like yesterday that he was born.... Thanks

Seniors gone, will be a much easier day. Shortened again because we are hosting another big track meet, but we don't have to work this one. We have an early release time today, so my weekend starts a little sooner...but then again after next week, I'm off until mid-August.

Looks to be a pretty day here, mid 70's and light breeze (10-20mph). So nice in fact I pulled the Vette out and drove it to school.

Have a nice day.

Supposed to be a beautiful day here, highs in the 70's and light winds (15-30). Chris, be careful driving home.

It's the last day for seniors....only days away until I have a break. It will be hectic here with the seniors checking out, the rest of them won't want to do anything either. I get grumpy when things are like this. Students are beginning to show up here, so I better sign off. Later

Well, things weren't a disaster while I was gone yesterday. Two more days with my seniors. Trying to get all the paper work done on them so I can sign them out tomorrow. Supposed to be 78 here today.....but just like normal the wind is to be 20-40mph.

Sorry I am so late today. It was a fun filled day helping my grandson's 6th grade class witha project at the HomeDepot. That was an all day affair. Then when I got home I loaded up the pickup with tools and finished up the shelving install across town and when I got done with that, taking the grandson's to baseball practice. Then I had 2 computer questions/repairs for people to do and then had two different people "have to see" my new vette. This is the first I've had a chance to sit down at the computer all day long. Congrats are in order for the new mods and another "keep your head down" to red-johnny.

Well, not morning, but Happy Mothers Day to all out there with one (if you're not one). Slept in again this morning and the wife made breakfast, then she went for a walk while I finished up her MD present.

Took me too long to build this thing, but Thank God it's done. It matches the rest of the furniture I built for our bedroom

Here's the bed.

This one shows bed, night stands and my chest.

Stands 86" tall, 58" wide and 21" deep. She is loving it and putting stuff away here as I type.

Cool and cloudy today, so I won't get the Vette out for pictures like I had hoped. See you tomorrow.

I'm waaaaaaay late today. Had a good night last night and slept in a bit this morning. Then went out to the shop to finish up the wife's mothers day present. I'll try to post up some pictures of it later. Once I got that done she wanted to go to the "city" to do some shopping. Picked up the materials and built her a "raised" bed for the tomatoes and peppers. Went to church and then over to a students graduation party. Then home to "primp" the Vette a bit. Programmed two new remotes for it and polished up a few spots of swirls. Tomorrow if the weather is good I plan to take it out and shoot some pictures of it. Now I think I'll try to convince the wife it's time to go to bed.......

Good morning guys... We are running a shortened schedule today as we are hosting a big track meet. I have to run off the Javelin throw. I just hope my helpers don't end up catching one :-)

Nothing huge planned for the weekend, I am going to finish up a dresser I built for the wife as a mothers day present. But other than that, not much. Looking at buying some new shoes for the Corvette.....run flats are considerably more expensive and the choices are fewer.

As everyone else has already said, You have NO reason to apologize to us. I went through the same thing a while back and then again with my mom. I know what it takes to get back into the swing of things, and it isn't easy.

I am saying prayers for you....

Must be a Thursday thing, I'm running behind as well. Typical day at school, I'm having open shop tonight, so those that need/want to make up some time can.
