Nagh, I kust need to get the broken ones off to replace with the new ones. The new replacements clip in and then slide to lock in place. The old ones look like they were rivited on. They don't slide either way.

OK, how in the world do you get the broken rear window trim clips off to replace with the new slide on ones. Can't find anything in the assembly manual and it's driving me insane. I'm scared to death that I'm gonna crack the window too.

Mornin ya'll. Supposed to have thunder storms today and clear out for the weekend. My nephew came up from AL yesterday and he's been setting in a tree since 5:30am waiting for a deer to come by. He's bow hunting.
Gonna try to get some fishing in in the morning on the Harpeth. Then tomorrow night I have a big ol' country wedding BBQ to go to in a friends barn. You aint seen nothing till you see a bunch of do a blow out. Ought to be about 200 or so there. Hoot Hoot!

Whatever everyone does, have fun and be careful.

Oh yeah, I'm unveiling the new paint and interior on the 79' tomorrow night too.

I did some fishing today after church. Hit the Harpeth river off the Cumblerland. Drizzled the whole time but I released 6 Bass. So it was a good trip and a good time.

Can't tell for sure in the pic but it looks like a Pan bottom. Don't see many Knucks, Pans or Shovels on the roads anymore. I miss those days. Yeah, I'm an old motor rider.

Don't really put mine away for winter. We don't get snow here that bad. But when we do it doesn't come out.

Nice shots of the ride. ? though. What do the GS stripes stand for? I've never known that.

Yeah, thanks a lot Tommy.

There's a show in Ashland City tomorrow so I'm gonna shine the best I can and go. I don't have the door panels, windows or outside handles on yet because I'm waiting on everything to fix the electric locks to come in. But I'm goin anyway. Supposed to be mid 70's and sunshine. Oughta be a great day. After the show, I think I'm gonna get in a little fishing.

Pretty lazy day planned.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day to be neighbors.

Drove the 79' to the shop today. Ran great & looks kick A$$. I'm gonna pull it in the shop and clean the interior up from all the paint and buffing.

Got it buffed. Man it's like a piece of glass. Flat wore me out though. If it ever stops raining I'll get it out and get some pics.

I did the wet sand of 1500 & 2000 yesterday. Going to do 3000 this morning then buff. Start putting everything back on like windows, mirrors lights, door handles, lights and stuff. After that I'm taking a break. Won't stop raining here so fishing's out. Could use a break anyway. This wet sanding wear's an old fart out.

I'm just tired today. Wished I'd stayed in bed this morning. But I've been at the shop since 5:30am. Too much graphics stuff to get caught up on.

About 12:30 we're gonna start wet sanding, then buff the 79' Looking forward to that.

Ya'll have a good day.

Thanks ya'll. Justin's a great guy. I've known him since he was a kid. One day he decided he wanted to do airbrush and jumped in. He's got some killer stuff out there. If you can, I'd use him.

Matt, don't know about the wheels. I'd like to get aftermarket but have a hard time spending the money on something I don't have to have. If I come across a good deal that would make a difference.

Trae, come on down man. We'll hit some of these good ol' country roads.

Didn't get to paint today. Been dealing with a water leak all night and this morning. Got home from sanding last night about 10:30pm and the upstairs toilet feed line had been leaking all day and night. I didn't notice it till about 1:30am because I hadn't gone upstairs till then.
It flooded the upstairs bathroom, went through to the bedroom below and came out where the ceiling fan is, straight on to the mattress. That's why I didn't hear it when I came in.
Totally soaked the mattress and all that goes with it, onto the area rug, through the hardwood floor into the basement.

Oh well, situations occur. More important things to worry about......like I didn't get to put the paint on today.

Had to re-prime. My bud wouldn't let me spray with all the swirl marks I missed cause I can't see s&#$ anymore. We blocked it down tonight and the paint goes on in the morning.

I'm letting him spray, cause like I said, I found out I can't see nearly as good as I thought I could. I did custom Harley paint for 9 1/2 years, and don't remember how many cars and trucks I've done. But it's been about 16 - 17 years since I've sprayed.

Time to pass my torch. That's cool though, that's the way of it.

OK Let's try the PB thing.
It's ready to tape back up, wipe down and spray. Maybe tomorrow if the booth is empty.

From this:

To This:

The darker gray is where I sanded through the sealer primer and went back and spot primed.

Thanks guys. I have what I need on my comps, but they're all at the shop and my laptop took a dive on me so I'm using my wife's. Zero fun programs. She actually uses her laptop for work.

Doesn't look any different from any other 79' all primed up. I'll get some shots up soon.

If anyone wants they can see them on my Face Book thing.
Just search for Donnie Gill. You can even be my friend.....aint that special. I do like F.B. though.

If you hit me up on there just type Guru in the message thing so I'll know where you're from.

Takin' me longer than I'd planed, but my bodies older than I'd like to admit. But then sanding will force a man to admit it.

I tried loading pics with the browse - upload thing but nothing shows up. Anyway, it's the 79' all primed and ready for wet sanding. If I survive it, I'm hoping to get the paint on Sunday.

I'll post some more invisible pics then. LOL

Spent mine between fighting bad headaches and sanding & priming the 79'. Work a little, lay down a little, work a little......... Finally got it primed but had way too many swirl marks in it from stripping it down. so I left the shop at 10:30 this morning, went to the paint shop and picked up a gallon kit of Evercoat Slick Sand primer. You mix a quart of this stuff with a tube of liquid hardner. It's like spraying liquid glass. Anyway, got it, got home, sanded down the last coat of regular primer from the weekend and shot the Vette with the Evercoat by 1pm. Grapped a shower, went to my Chiropractor to get all this weekend worked out of me and rested the rest of the day. Gettin closer and closer to paint. I just don't have this stuff in me any more. It's wearing me out.

Morning ya'll. Mat, send some of that rain my way. I'm spending about 45 minutes every evening watering our new landscaping plants. Cuts in on my Vette and fishing time.
