I'm north of Houston, commute isn't bad. 3rd generation A/C
repair mechanic. Where else do you live but here when that's
what you do. Hot and humid all year. 365 days of corvette
weather is not bad too, benny

My last work truck was an '05 2500 extra cab with a service
body. 6.0L 4.10 gears, it got 11 mpg combined. In 110k miles
never used low-range. Towed a lot with it, 6 mpg pulling 10k#.
A regular bed would get better mpg and tow more weight. benny

Sure the Tri's are way faster, but the old keel boats are
so traditional and pretty. Yes they are slower and less agile
in light air... ok i got no good reasons. I'm with you on WHY
are they in the Persian Gulf. UAE didn't win last time, did
they?

Its kind of arrogant to think we are the only intelligent
life isn't it? We are the best looking and the smartest,
sure, but are we all there is? I can't tell you about the
Masonic link, we would have to initiate you or kill you if
I did.

She (Jackson-Lee) is an embarrassment to Texans and Houstonians. That resolution is such
a waste of time. Pelosi is against it, the only thing i agree with Pelosi about.

No. I can't buy a new one from them now, it would be supporting the very policies that caused the mess GM is
in now. When/if GM is clear of ANY government control, i'm back in. Used cars, a whole 'nother story. Benny

My car didn't have them when i got it. Those big spikes they
slide onto are sort of unnerving to look at. I don't think
you could impale yourself on them, but they look scary.

I "invested" $3500 in my '86L coupe. Replaced the seats for
$185. I put about 1,000,000 man hours in prep and disassembly,
$100 for a paint gun, $100 in paint, and $500 misc. repairs.
All added up that makes my corvette worth about $3525. Right?
I love it anyway, but its the worst "investment" i have ever
made. Its therapy, no matter the cost. benny

The answer to your question in post#8 is
yes. That switch has failed. The replacement
for "corvette" isn't always in stock near me,
but the "camaro" part usually is. The camaro
switch has a longer wire and cost a couple of
dollars more. Both my T.P.I. cars have done that.

Just tossing out an idea. Check your lighter fuse. My
truck OBD2 port uses that B+ to power the scanner. The
truck runs ok with that fuse blown, but the scanner won't
work. Good luck with it. benny

I shot my car with a Kobalt HVLP gun from Lowes. It is a copy
of something else. My 2 horsepower compressor cycled on and
off while i was painting. It never ran too low to spray. I got
tired before it did. I have a small drier, 10cfm Hankison.
Humid here most of the time. If I can do it anybody can.

I got the paint at Tractor Supply. Its Valspar Tractor and
Implement series. Its not the Restoration series, no stores
had that in stock. I have the mirrors and the targa to do
to finish it. This was a near basket case car so I haven't
hurt the value any. I'll post more pics as it progresses.
Thanks. Benny

Most of those bolts are 10mm and common as dirt on GM cars. If you have a
Pick-a-Part type junk yard local to you, get them from camaro's and cavalier's. They go for a dollar a hand full around here.
