Anyone getting money back? What do you plan on doing with it? Anything special?

My share of our refund is $1,550 and I'm getting new side pipes for my '77 Vette. I have side pipes already but they are a very old model of the SBC Hooker side pipes. They are rotten with rust and corrosion and they leak at the joint of the header and the pipe. Seems some idiot previous owner tried to pry them apart with a flat head screw driver.

So anyway, my 2010 tax refund = New side pipes.

What about you?

One of the upper execs where I work was complaining he was going to have to pay between 5K and 10K back in taxes. I might feel sorry for him except he makes a little under $150K a year to sit on his ass and make decisions about processes he knows nothing about. Boo hoo.

If it's anything like the last several years, we'll have to pay. We make quarterly payments on top of our regular deductions (because of my cabinetry business). And it never seems to be enough.

Yep, quarterly estimates and still have penalties!!!!

I think folks will be shocked this year when they may owe due to the "At Work Tax Program". It was kind of a teaser program. Gvt gives you some money through a reduced tax but asks for it back when the 09 return is filed. Brilliant program!!

So, my 2009 return = nice check back to the government. Hey DB, I guess you could say I'm buying your sidepipes LOL!

Ha ha, maybe a little bit, but I claim '0' and I have them withhold an extra $10 on state and an extra $10 on Fed to help make my return a bit larger every year. I do without more week to week so I can have more once a year.

My wife and I both claim 0 and have extra taken out, pay the quarterly and still owe. So when that works for you that's great.

I envy anyone who is paying back $10K+ in taxes. I'd pay 100% of my taxes in one payment if they'd let me without auditing me. If you could put that entire ~25% chunk of your income in an interest bearing account all year you'd have a nice interest payment come tax time.

I'm getting -$130 back. After I do my taxes every year I redo my W4 so that my refund is close to zero. Anything more is loaning the government money for free.
