buy it.

It will fit. The wiring should be REAL close. The PCM will need to be flashed to work right. I would expect accessories to be the biggest difference. You will more than likely need to swap them over.

The truck engine and the car engine are the same basic architecture. Many builders will use the iron LQ9 block to replace the aluminum LSx block when doing major boost.

Damn... that would be COOL.

Its a bolt in per sey. Check the engine for the oiling issues they had as there was a low tension ring issue I believe that was fixed via TSB etc for the 2001 LS6.

Yes. GM Bellhousings have been pretty standard for years.

i am 99% sure that the 99 yukons had the first gen sbc's in them. its not a direct replacement.

I am not so sure... lemme check.

I did some research... considering it is an iron head and block, I bet you are right.

I thought the LSx family of Vortec engines started in 1999... a couple of years past the LS1 started in the Vette.

Yea, '99. My 2000 Silverado has a 5.3 Vortec.

if it were a gen 3 it would be a 5.3 or a 6.0. i worked on a tahoe a few weeks ago that was a 99 and had the older style 350 in it.. i know they changed the trucks in that year to the new style..

It will still bolt up to your trans. YOu will need a different converter and motor plates for the mounts. You can get a harness at Current performance that will allow you to run the car and motor but will need a computer from the LS family for the engine. It won't be a direct swap and there is some homework you'll need to do but anything is possible if you have the time and money.
