Good Morning CGs!

Well I had a crappy night last night, tossing and turning and rolling things over in my mind. Too many little problems to deal with and it was driving me nuts! Ugh, I need a vacation. That and I need this damn car to be done!

For those of you who remember, I did a race last weekend called the warrior dash - here's a pic they finally got online:

Resized Image

They got a few other pics but they were crappy. Was still fun overall.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

LOL...part of the fun of the warrior dash is people dress up in well, warrior costumes, but also just plain weird stuff. He was dressed as the jolly green giant (and was about 6'03).

Woke up early. Had to get some yard trash into the trash cans before the sanitatation truck comes. I made my coffee, turned on the local news and planted my ass on the couch. The wife was getting ready to head out at 6:30 as she always does. As she was leaving she cast me a glance. One of those guilt laden, you SOB looks as she headed off to work. I know sometimes it just burns her ass that I don't have a schedule to adhere to. I'm used to that look though. I've been getting it for one reason or another for most of my life. Oh well ......

Matt -- I'm with you on this statement! I don't remember the last time I was this down. The past several weeks have just got worse and the car is just sitting in the garage with crap piling up around it as I get involved with other things around the house. All my buddies are on their way to VIR this weekend to play at the track. I paid for a day of driving school and track time but can't use it. Its just really depressing.

Then I found out for sure that I probably won't have a job in the new year as Air Force is moving OSI HQ to Quantico VA. Initial plans said we would stay employed and work up here in Maryland at a satellite facility, but that just went out the door. Looks like I better get humpping looking for another gig.

I was really looking forward to my 50th Summer, but not so much now!

Y'all have a good day now!

That's crazy... didn't think there would be open fire jumping like that...

Woke up this morning feeling pretty crappy myself.. feeling like I might be getting sick.. still on the fence about bloomington gold, call me tonight and let's talk about it...

Went to cop car night in Westmont last night with the wife, had a good time.. atleast 40 different towns were there, parade was fun, but missed the old caprice that threw flames out the exhaust that one wasn't there...

Good luck, Don.

I'm headed to Virginia City for the hillclimb at lunchtime. I'll probably just take some pics and get out of there before it gets too hot. And I'm not humping the hills just to watch cars go around one corner.

Rick, you guys should do Bloomington at least once in your lifetime.

Morning guys...sorry to hear of all the troubles going around here. I had another computer brought over to me to fix, had one yesterday afternoon...it was DOA, I fixed him up with a loaner until I get new parts and repair the primary one. This one this morning is just all junked up.

The grandsons had good games last night. They were all tired this morning.

Sure hope that you who have troubles are able to work through them and resolve those issues. Bloomington? I'd like to attend that once, just to say I have.

Last nite I decide to change the oil and lube the Suburban and my truck. The truck is easy. Change filter, drain, 6 lube points, refill, done. The Sub is no fun at all. It becomes alot easier by removing the two plastic splash pans, but the access to the eleven lube points is still a bit difficult. In particular the idler arm. But this time, it seemed like each one of the little boogers was determined to fight me to the death over taking grease. The lower right ball joint was the worst. I even tried to change out the zerk fitting, but guess what...it's got no wrench flats! I finally had to let it go and I'll hit a quick lube to see if their equipment can do any better.
What a fight! At least I got the oil changed.

I quit the car shows a long time ago. I used to put them on like Don. That got old, 8 hours of judging got old too. I was a NCRS judge too which was even harder.

Haven't been to a Corvette show in 25 years.

I'm already to retire from it after only two years of being the show organizer!!! Arg! I want to be a regular member again that enjoys Corvette ownership!!! LOL

Brian, you're right, that's the way any organization is. Good people working at making the organization better. But unfortunately, like Don, many organizations burn the good members up.

That's why I feel it's best to concentrate on one or two orginizations. Once you start to contribute there is always that push to try and get a little bit more, then a little bit more. That's why I now participate a little bit less and a little bit less. I pick and choose what I'll do and I've learned to say NO. My wife still gets us sideways every once in awhile. LOL.

Good luck, Don, looks like you've got more problems than my leaking pool and overtightened rocker arms! Keep us posted.

I'm doing Bloomington tomorrow

Gonna hit the casino tonight with the wife for a little away time from the rugrat.

Yea,it's the 10% rule. 10% of the members do all the work.

Besides orgainzing the show and doing judging for 8 hours is a PIA, especially while the rest of the members are partying.

Thanks All... I'll recover. I'm usually pretty upbeat, its just a bad weekend I think. I hope to get out and do something fun tomorrow or Sunday. I may just ride down to my boat and do some cleaning and perhaps start it up and putter out into the bay for a little cruise.
