The dimension from front to back of the luggage area is the same and the carpet and pad provide plenty of "take up" so the bamboo pole works fine unless something more rigid is needed. Then the spring loaded adjustable closet rod will fill the bill.

For the next demonstration though I want to see enough beer for a tailgate party, or an all day car show event...and how easily it secures.
